I pulled out all of my Bonnie Hunter UFO projects. Â I counted them up and took pictures so I could make a new listing of them. Â Stop back later this week and I’ll share it. Â For now, with Winston Ways completely finished and Pfeffernuse sewn into a top, I need to start in on a new quilt. Â The closest one to the machine was Talkin’ Turkey so I pulled it and started in.
It started out like this at the beginning of the summer.
I had some of the red string units finished.
Over the summer when I had the luxury of all of my childcare kids sleeping at the same time I cut out the rest of the quilt over the course of a week during nap times. Â (I miss those days when everyone slept at once!)
When I pulled the Talkin’ Turkey UFO just before Christmas I finished the string pieced units. Â Then over the weekend jumped in and started on the over 400 flying geese units.
Can you believe I am this far?
It doesn’t look like much but it really is. Â I have ALL of the flying geese finished. Â A good chunk of them are already sewn into the border units of the blocks.
From the pictures it looks like nothing at all but I’ve made a ton of progress on this quilt. Â Next up I need to start in on the nine patches.
I’ll catch you back here next Wednesday. Remember to watch for a complete UFO listing from me in the week to come.
I’ve been working on En Provence, up until the final reveal. Since then, nothing. I’m trying to decide how big to go – 4, 9, or all 16 blocks. I’ve got more than 4 cut out, it’ll probably be 9 or 16. I doubt I’ll do the 4-patch border in either case.
Pingback: And the New Quilt Top is Half Way Done!
I have been working on a couple of quilt tops made out of leader and ender blocks. I have one ready for borders and just started the sashing on another. Then I need to get a BOM from last year in to top form. All the blocks are finished, I just don’t care for the setting they have, so I am trying to figure out my own
I wanted to do your “Bonnie” challenge during the summer but I had a QOV I needed to finish and since then I’ve just puttered along finishing other things. Judy at Patchwork Times issued a challenge to choose 12UFOs to work on this year. The first was number 3 which is my Smith Mountain Morning. I started it in a workshop about four years ago but have rarely touched it since. Now I have all the star points and pinwheels done! It sure feels, good! I don’t know if I’ll get it into a top before the end of the month but it will be a lot closer to a top before the end of the month. Thanks for your push to keep going!
En Provence-1 block sewn and another laid out. I need to cut to hourglass units from Sunday’s Clue and sew the halves together from last Friday’s. I will L&E those as I am assembling blocks. I am also working on the All People Quilt UFO challenge, so my #6 UFO on that list is a hand-piecing project called Kansas Dust Storm that I started YEARS ago. I am determined to make serious progress on clearing out these quilts that I have in progress and get them FINISHED. Of course, my idea was that I would hand piece and hand quilt 1 large quilt in my lifetime. . .I won’t be able to get that done in a month.
En Provence! I am cutting all the triangles for the hour glass units today. Want to sandwich and quilt two quilt tops I made for my grown children when they were in elementary school
This week I cut and completed the main section of a quilt for my brother’s 60th birthday, now it just needs borders and I’m having difficulty deciding on those. All the parts for EnPr are done so now I can begin assembling the blocks, but I’m also thinking of making the quilt larger. Last year’s mystery is loaded on the longarm and ready to be worked on today. It’s been a busy week. Glad to see you are making lots of progress on TT. My TT is currently residing on my bed.

I have finished the piecing for the individual units for Bonnie’s mystery but then got sidetracked with the red strings for Taking Turkey. So much fun and I have marked others I want to do – you are such a good influence!
