UFO Progress

I had hoped to get my Santa Fe String Star sewn together but that didn’t happen.  I had even hoped I might have a UFO on the quilting frame but that didn’t happen either.  The UFO on the quilting frame was the most tempting but the charity quilts have been winning out.  I feel guilty doing my own quilts when there are charity quilts here.  I’ve told myself a few more of them, then I’ll take a break and do one of mine.

So what did I work on…Blue Skies.

I got this stack of block finished…

But I needed more blue triangles so back to sewing and trimming for me.

As much as I love sewing strings, I’m happy to say that those are all finished now.  I need to get the yellow and blue triangles sewn together and then I’ll be done with this step.

I still haven’t managed to squeeze out enough time during nap time to get all my half square triangles ironed.  Little by little more is getting done but I’m not done yet.  I’ll be SUPER happy when I get that step finished.

I did see that Bonnie Hunter is off picking up paint chips for her mystery. That means the colors will be released soon. I promised myself that I’l really hit the UFO quilting hard once she released the colors. Then I’d work to see how many quilts I can finish between the time the mystery colors are released to the time the mystery actually starts. I need to finish up a few more loose ends before I can do that…I best get off the computer and up to the quilting room!!

  2. I think almost all the quilts I am making right now are from scraps and they are all progressing – some faster than others but all going strong.

  3. I have made real progress this week! One quilt has the binding on it, another small one got quilted and just needs the binding and two other tops were completed and dropped off at the long arm quilter’s ! I am feeling motivated!

  4. YAHOOO! The colors are here! Very motivating to get more UFOs through and clear some space to work. I made 34 Garden Party blocks over the weekend, have two bindings to tack down, which will hopefully happen tomorrow. I am also going to work hard for the next month to get UFOs out of my hair. . .there’s always L&E during the mystery to keep making some progress. . .I LOVE MYSTERY sewing!
