Judy over at Patchwork Times has challenged us to complete projects during the 2012 year. Â She did that last year too…. Â I did pretty well. Â Here’s a link back to the projects I did finish.
Here’s the projects that were on last year’s list that I didn’t get to.
#1 Dresden Plate quilt…
#2 Odds and Ends-I love these little guys. Â I think they need to get out of the closet and get finished. Â This is from American Patchwork and Quilting June 2010 issue.
#3 Â These blocks are now a quilt top and the backing is pieced…it just needs to get quilted. Â This is from the Nickel Quilts: Great Designs from 5 Inch Scraps.
.
#4  This is a block of the month from Three Studios online.  I was doing great keeping up…then at the end they quickly added 3 blocks and gave about 7 different layout options and that’s where I petered out.  I am HORRIBLE at making decisions so I just didn’t make one and let the project sit….it sat for another year too.
#5
Soot and Ashes blocks.  I love the little blocks but the finished quilt was just a bit too primitive for me so I am auditioning other options…maybe some cheddar fabric and using it for Halloween…Maybe they’ll get used up in a quilt back too.  I know just the quilt!!
Now add this year’s unfinished projects…
#6 Â Uptown Girl…this is all cut out and ready to sew. Â It’s a Miss Rosie’s pattern.
#7 Â This is my half finished tumbler quilt. Â I think I need to cut out more tumblers. I’ve been making this with my Accuquilt GO! and Accuquilt GO! Cutting Die 3 1/2″ Tumbler 55015
#8 Â Wool Projects…several. Â I’d be happy to get two of these finished this year!
#9 Â This is Nice Day. Â It’s a Miss Rosie quilt. Â It’s in the Schnibbles Times Two: Quilts from 5″ or 10″ Squares (That Patchwork Place). Â It’s all cut out and ready to go.
#10 Â This is Hand Me Downs from Scraps & Shirttails: Reuse, Re-pupose, Recycle! The Art of “Quilting Green”. Â All the star blocks are finished. Â I just need to put them all together.
#11 Â This is Criss Cross Applesauce from Scraps & Shirttails II: Continuing the Art of Quilting Green. Â I love this quilt. Â It’s all cut out and waiting for me to sew it.
#12 Â My Blue Heaven..a free quilt pattern at Quiltville. Â I started it when I took classes with Bonnie Hunter over the summer. Â It’s my leader and ender project right now.
I also have…
#13 Â Bargello in Plaid from Scraps & Shirttails: Reuse, Re-pupose, Recycle! The Art of “Quilting Green”-one strip done. Â It’s a graduation present.
#14 Stars over Shallotte from Scraps & Shirttails II: Continuing the Art of Quilting Green. Â Cut out. Â Nothing sewn.
#15 Cactus Patch from Scraps & Shirttails: Reuse, Re-pupose, Recycle! The Art of “Quilting Green”. Â The strings blocks are sewn. Â Nothing else.
#16 Orca Bay. Â I am currently working on this.
#17 Pineapple Blossoms from Quiltville…Just needs to be quilted.
WOW. Â What a list. Â I don’t know how many I will get done. Â I am guessing I’ll get over half done…that will be good as long as I don’t start a bunch more projects that get carried over into the new year. Â The happy news is that ALL of them are cut out. Â That’s my least favorite job. Â I know over the next year I will be busy with more Moda Bake Shop projects (check out my recent project…there’s a giveaway still going on with it). Â I’ll be busy with the Quilt Square Quilt Along (JOIN US!)Â too…oh and oops…I forgot my other crumb quilt(#18 I guess). Â LOTS of others have joined Judy’s UFO Challenge. Â You can check them out here. Â Looks like I best quit writing this blog post and I better get to sewing. Â Oh…I have a LONG list.
Hi, love yor quilts, even in their unfinished state (like many of my own!) would you tell me in where I can find the pattern for Odds and Ends? Thanks from the U.K.
Ps I made the No. 3 UFO and its other half this last year, love ’em
I’d love to k ow where I can get patterns # 2 & 3. They all look very pretty, but those two spoke to me, saying please make me…..LOL! I’m very scared to join this challenge as it would mean finding all of my UFOs!!!! Verrrry scary thought!!!
Great list! Good luck getting some of those crossed off the list this year.
Wow! That is a long list! Best of luck completing all these quilts! If anyone can do it…YOU can! Happy New Year!
Great projects going on!! I love all of them!
I love your quilt blocks. Even unfinished they look great. My least favorite thing is also cutting everything out but not just that, it is also pressing all the fabrics which I use sizing on. Once everything is cut, I can just sew whenever I have a little time here and there.
I am so darn happy to see that someone else has so many unfinishes :) It is so easy to start, isn’t it?! Happy New Year, and many happy quilting days ahead to you!
I see you’re a Bonnie Hunter fan too. I love her patterns and her color sense. I just finished Roll Roll Cotton Boll in Nov. and am working on Christmas Lights now. I just tolerate the cutting part so I can get to the sewing. After working today I have four days in a row off. Maybe I’ll get that top finished. Have a Happy New Year! And another year full of sewing.
Just found your site through Bonnie Hunter. This looks great. I plan to be back frequently.
LOVE seeing your UFOs Jo!! your color and fab choices are wonderful :)
18 isn’t bad at all-I have 26 that need to be quilted, 26 that I have started the piecing on, and 11 or 12 that are all cut and ready to sew. Then today my sister asked if I could make my nephew a big boy bed quilt. . .two graduation gifts are tops with backs and binding all ready to go! :) Happy New Year!
