From now until Bonnie Hunter’s new book comes out in September you’ll find me right here on Wednesdays sharing my progress on a UFO (unfinished project). My hope is to get some finished so I won’t feel guilty sewing on new projects from her new book. It’s not to late to join in the fun. You can find my first post about it here. You can see my listing of all my Bonnie Hunter UFOs here.
I had told you that one of my downfalls of really doing good with the UFO challenge was that I seem really scattered. I don’t seem to be able to work on only one project. Now, I at least have a reason for it. As soon as I found out when surgery was scheduled, (tomorrow August 4th) I started to rethink my time. I know I’m not going to be very mobile. I know I need to sit a lot. That made me think that ironing would be something I could do. I have an awesome ironing board that can adjust to sitting height so I decided to start sewing up and pieces I could that would need ironing.
So…I sewed ALL of the half square triangles I need for Bricks in the Barnyard. I also sewed ALL of the quarter square triangle twos-ies for Pffernuse. They are all in their little baskets waiting for me.
I also sewed ALL of the half square triangles for Winston Ways.
That was a lot of sitting and sewing and it’s going to equal out to a LOT of time that I’ll be sitting and ironing as a recuperate.
…and with Texas Braid….Some progress was made there too.
I have four more braids completely finished. I only have these five left to finish and as you can see, they have a pretty good start on them.
This is what happens when I have no internet and can’t be on the computer to go through email, write blog posts or just surf the net.
As frustrated as I was with the no internet life, I can see that in some ways it did pay off. I got a lot of sewing done. In fact it gave me a sign that I need to be on the computer a little less.
See you back here next week…I’m not sure if I’ll have progress or not. I sure am hoping I can get a little something done. Even if it’s only some ironing.
