UFO Challenge

I had another busy week.  I told you about that Monday when I told you about my busy week so you already likely know I didn’t have a lot of sewing time.  BUT…remember I made a goal last week for this week?

I’m working on the TWO Zuckerwatte quilts for my childcare kiddos and my goal was to finish the rest of the blocks AND to get a row sewn together.  Well I did get the blocks all finished and sewn….

Zuckerwatte-1
I was happy with that, but I went on and got a few of them sewn together….See?

Four rows sewn together.  That’s better than my goal!!

I’m really happy with that.  I went beyond the goal!!

I am making a goal for next week.  It worked go good for me last week to make a goal so this is it.  I want to have the center of both tops sewn together and fabric dug out to start sewing the borders.  That’s a little ambitious BUT Memorial Day is nestled in there and so I have an extra day off.  At this point I think I might go visit Kayla on Saturday but other than that, no plans.

Stop back next week and see if I kept my goal.  I am hoping you all can take advantage of the longer weekend and get some extra sewing in too.

Stop back on Friday too.  I got my Star Gazing quilt finished and will be showing it off then.

  2. Hope you have a wonderful Memorial week end and that you do get some sewing time in. I’m working on some pillowcases this week, hope to make a dozen of them in the next few days.

  3. Only 60 blocks left of the chain ones in Garden Party AND I finished a binding on a grad gift this morning before work. . .also looking for some extended sewing time this weekend.

  4. I chuckled because we’ve been saying Labor Day around here, too, instead of Memorial Day. Glad we are not the only ones.

You are great at getting stuff done, goals or not. I haven’t seen a thing in weeks and need to get back to it. You inspire me!!

  5. I have one of these quilts in the works, but other projects keep getting in the way. Maybe this should be a summer project for me. Yours are coming along nicely!

  6. I quilted my split 9-patch with fleece on the back. But I also started 2 new quilts. A scrappy challenge quilt and Scrap Crystals, which I worked on at the Bonnie Hunter retreat I attended this past weekend. My mother-in-law and sister-in-law are here so don’t know if I will get much sewing done.
