Try it on Tuesday: Simply Retro

Are you a Camille Roskelley fan??  I am betting you are and you don’t even know it.  Camille is the force behind her blog Simplify.  She’s also 1/2 of Moda’s design team Bonnie and Camille.  In fact, right now, I am working with their soon to be released fabric line, Scrumptious.  She is also an amazing pattern designer and author.  We’re you part of the big Swoon quilt making?  If you don’t know about that, check out the great images courtesy of google.

When I saw that she had a new book out, I immediately asked C&T Publishing for a review copy.  The book is Simply Retro.

The book features quick quilts in a modern motif.  Many of the quilts feature over-sized blocks.  Here’s a great example of an over-sized block quilt.  Cute, right??  That sure would make a REALLY fast baby quilt.  With a fun novelty print on the back a kiddo would be sure to love it.

This next quilt is “Sweet Life”.  You can’t tell from the photo but the blocks are 18″ x 18″!  That makes a quilt go together in a hurry.

This quilt is “Adorn”.  It would be great to make to use up some scraps.  Again with a fun kid friendly backing it would make a wonderful baby quilt.

Next up…”Dwell”.  If you’re a fan of house blocks, this is another sure to please.

This is my favorite of the book and it’s called “Framed”.  I can see it as a wonderful way to use up lots of scraps.  Cute…right??

If I was looking for fast donation quilts, lots of these would be perfect.  Using over-sized blocks really makes for easy and fun quilts.  Sadly, I don’t have a copy to give away.  My review copy came as an ebook.  If you looking for the book, Amazon has it here…Simply Retro with Camille Roskelley: Fresh Quilts from Classic Blocks and C&T Publishing has it here.
