First off…the winner of last week’s “Try it on Tuesday” book from Martingale and Company (That Patchwork Place) called “Stitched for Fun” by Fiona Goble is….Laura who said, “I love doing hand embroidery. I think is very relaxing. I love the idea of stitching on some little shoes like that!” Well Laura you are going to get your chance to stitch those shoes.
Now what I am trying this week is…. (drum roll, please) Everyday Handmade by Cassie Barden and Adrienne Smitke. First off, let me tell you I love it!!
Martingale and Company provides me with copies that I can review. I always have the option of keeping the book or giving it away….this book, I am keeping. My girls were home over Easter break and all of them were ogling over this project or that project. Let me show you our favorites.
Kelli wants to make this messenger bag and to be honest, I do too.
Jen, our son’s girlfriend, wants an apron with ruffles…
All of us loved this little coin purse.
I love this little what not bag…
Kelli and thought about making this little hedgehog pincushion. When we were quilting with the Mississippi Valley Quilters, one of the gals had a hedgehog pincushion we loved and this one reminded us of it. I want to modify the pattern and make mine from wool.
We’d love to make this little knitting needle organizer for the knitters in our family. Apparently we have TWO knitters in the house now. (Hop over to my daughter Kayla’s blog and she’ll tell you all about how she taught my son Karl to knit over Easter break!)
I haven’t been one to save selvages…but this cute little tote has me thinking I will.
I just love the variety of so many different patterns and gifting ideas. There are hot pad holders in there I wouldn’t mind making too. In all there are 22 “practical projects for the modern sewist”. Who knows how many projects from the book that we will actually finish but for now, I am keeping this book in my library. If you want a copy of your own, you can check out, Martingale and Company or Amazon.
Thank you so much! I am so excited to win…and to start a new stitching project! :)
