On Thursdays we recap a blog post or two sharing something from the past. Â Today is one of those days…Throwback Thursday.
My apple tree is loaded with apples. Â It’s time to dig out some recipes. Â I’m guessing some of you are in the same situation so I thought I’d share some of my apple recipes on this rendition of Throwback Thursday.
A standard favorite around here that came from Hubby’s mom is Apple Crisp. Â Hubby and the boys here love it. Â Find the recipe here. Â Grandma used to always make it when we came.
This apple salad will only use up a couple apples but it’s one of the more healthy recipes on the blog. Â You can find the recipe here.
German Apple Cake is next up. Â This recipe came from The Mississippi Valley Quilters cookbook. Â It was yummy. Â You can find the recipe here.
German Apple Rolls are a HUGE favorite. Â I can’t get them to last much more than a day around here. Â I might as well just make two batches at once. Â Here is the recipe.
This Swedish Crustless Apple Pie is about the quickest recipe of the bunch..and good too. Â Now that it is mainly Hubby and I around to eat, this is nice as it doesn’t make a large amount.
I for sure want to make a batch or two of this yet this fall….  Apple Pie Jam. It honestly make toast taste like apple pie.  YUM.  Here’s the link.
I stumbled upon the recipe and love it. Â This is a hearty cake more like carrot cake… Butterscotch Apple Cake. Â You can find the recipe here.
This one might be Hubby’s favorite of the bunch… Â Sour Cream Apple Pie. Â You can find the recipe here.
Then there is my quilt…Criss Cross Applesauce. Â That’s probably my favorite “apple recipe” on the blog. Â You can find it here.
This quilt is really the family favorite. Â Being it’s made with all recycled fabrics it is super soft. Â I also used Hobb’s 80/20 for the quilting so it’s even softer.
Well…I am off to mow lawn. Â I hope that task will end soon…then to pick apples. Â I think supper time will include a Sour Cream Apple Pie. Â I have LOTS of apples so if any of you have a recipe to share, I’d love to give it a try.
I’m going to have to try that apple pie jam!
Thanks for all the apple ideas! I’ll be cooking up some yummy recipes this weekend.
