The Perfect Gifts…

Wednesday of last week was a tough day for me. I told you all about Arnie and me splitting up. Then I told you I got the results back from my scalp biopsy, and it showed cancer. Off-da. It was a lot for one day.

My daughter Kalissa’s boys were here, and Carver wanted to go to the library. I took him and, on the way home, stopped at the mailbox to pick up my mail. There was a package. I wasn’t expecting anything, but there were two packages.

I took them in the house and opened them. First was embroidery floss. Perfect!!

Then there was this…The sweetest little pillow that was stitched for me!! I know how much time and expense go into cross-stitching a piece. I’m so honored.

…and the saying is perfect for me!!

Check out the finishing. SO CUTE!! I love the button…love the braided trim. I’m simply honored that anyone would stitch something for me.

It was the perfect pick-me-up on a not-so-good day.

It’s going with this display for now. I’m going to do a little more moving things around to set it up neatly. I’m just tickled.

Thanks so much for thinking of me. Floss and a stitched piece…what more could a person ask for? WAY better than flowers!! Thanks so much!!

That is so cute!! Glad there was some brightness in your no-good-very-bad day. (I think you will get the book reference.)

  2. That is lots of floss and what a cute little pillow with a nice saying on it. Oh so fun to receive a sweet gift when not expecting anything especially on a day such as you were having.

    1. I did. Right now my brain can’t handle designing cross stitch. I need to stick with repetitive things right now. Maybe in the future.

  3. I hate that you had a not-so-good day. I hope every day since then has been better. My Winnie the Pooh clock says “Today is my new favorite day.” I wish you that kind of day always.

  4. This has God’s fingerprints all over it. Just when you needed something special… these special gifts arrived. I see that as more than a coincidence. Enjoy your treasures! ❤️

  5. how did i miss the scalp biopsy results ??? Is there any followup necessary ??
The gifts will have such a reminder of your specialness each and every time you spot the cross stitch piece and while you are creating pieces with the thread in your needle. God bless you.

    1. Yes…there is follow up needed. I’ll be having MRI and CT scans on the 20th. I was scheduled for them previously as part of my 3 month check up. They just added my head to the scans. We’ll know more then. Treatment all depends on if the cancer has spread into my skull or brain or if it is has stayed with the skin. Fingers crossed for skin.

  6. What wonderful gifts! You are so loved and appreciated that I’m not even one bit surprised you should find special surprises in your mailbox just when you may have needed them. I use that particular floss organizer and love it! Have three of them filled to the brim with floss. Whenever I open one up, I get this rush of happiness just seeing all those colors stretched out in front of my eyes. Ha – I had the exact same feeling when I opened your post. Floss and fabric… so much fun. Have a joyful day, Jo. PS Hope you all did not get too much bad weather last night. ~ Suzanne in Michigan
