The Grandkids…

Summer Vacation from school is in full swing around here. Carver and Gannon got done before Memorial Day. So did Jasper. The rest of the grandkids got out of school last week.

I had to laugh. Kalissa missed taking the last day of school pictures for Carver and Gannon. She decided to try to do them when the kids got home. This is the best the boys would do.

Carver was mad and Gannon didn’t want his picture taken. Let’s all hope summer goes better than this picture.

Jasper gets the award for growing up the most over the last year. Check out the first day and last day school pictures. What a difference!!

Here is Lilly’s graduation from Kindergarten picture…

Lilly and Jasper both move on to first grade next year.

Kelli was here on Thursday of last week with the kids. She was visiting before we all went to watch Carver play in his first game of the summer. Georgia was acting up. Kelli said, “It is going to be a LONG summer if you’re going to be acting like this”.

Georgia said back to her, “Ya. I’m pretty sure it is the same number of days either way.” She really didn’t understand she was sassing…but she sure was!! I think it will be a long summer.

They are already enjoying summer. Here Eli is spraying Georgia with Emmett at the end of the sidewalk.

Thursday was Carver’s first game of the season. Earlier in the day, I had asked him what time his game was at. He said 6:30 pm. I said, “Well, it’s a good thing your game is then. The Indiana Fever plays at 9pm. I’d have had to miss your game if they were on at the same time.” I was completely joking. Carver caught on and quickly said, “No, Grandma. You never miss my games. I can always hear you cheering.”

Awe…that really warmed my heart. I hope I can keep making it to all of his games. He’s fun to watch.

That night, Carver hit an honest triple. The ball was overthrown at home base to get the runner before him out. Carver risked it and ran to home plate, hoping for a home run. He ended up getting out. I couldn’t help but think I shouldn’t have promised a trip to the ice cream store if he got a home run. HA!!

This is the first of summer blog posts about the grandkids. There are sure to be more!! After all, summer just started.

  1. Yup the fun has just started for another summer! Oh, those kiddos are growing. Sweet, sweet Georgia – she is smart! oh and a little sassy, but Kelli will work that out of her. I hope your continue to have lots of fun with all of them this summer.

  2. I’m glad summer vacation is here. I get to spend time with my grandson too. His baseball season just ended. He’s 10. Hugs,

  3. Summer is off to a great start, and I hope it continues to fun for all of them. I look forward to more of Carvers ball games and a little sass from Georgia, ha!

  4. I thought Georgia’s comment was hysterical and quite smart, in more ways than one! Enjoy the grandkids. They are all precious.

  5. Was that the night the fever played the Portland Fire? My son has season tickets to the Fire and is discovering the WNBA. He got a great price on tickets thru work. He said the game with the Fever was really run to watch,
