The Cotton Cabin: Quilt Shop Tour

A couple weeks ago when Hubby and I went away for a couple days, he spent part of two different days at a Beef Conference.  I had to keep myself entertained which was quite easy for me to do.  One of my stops was to the Cotton Cabin Quilt Shop.

They had a quilt there that I just loved.  The front was a pretty rail fence but the quilting really set it off.

See..look.  The “print” of the backing fabric is actually the quilting.

Amazing right??  I wish I was talented enough with the quilting machine to do that!?!?!

They had cute little displays throughout the store.

This snowman mat was really cute.

I would have bought the pattern to make these Christmas stocking but they were out of stock.  They are the perfect size…not too big and not too small.  When you need stocking for 7+ people, the can’t be huge.

Cute spool quilt, right??

The quilting on this snowman quilt really made the quilt.

I did make a purchase.  It was this pattern for the basket.  If I am ever a grandma, these would be cute for May Day or Easter.

This Churn Dash quilt was one I loved.  I love simple classic.  This one was made with their great selection of brushed cottons.

Here’s a pattern from fellow blogger, Cluck Cluck Sew.

Of course this scrappy reproduction quilt caught my eye.

All in all it was a cute little shop that I hope to visit again if I go that way.

  1. I have not been to the Cotton Cabin Quilt Shop for awhile now but after seeing all of your pictures I am going to have to go there soon. And to think I was in Dubuque this afternoon. Just means I will have to make another trip to Dubuque!!! Thanks for sharing.

  2. What is the name of the snowman quilt pattern….all the heads….beautifully quilted? Is the pattern available for purchase or how might I get a copy? Thank you in advance for your response.
