Taking lesson from “Pete the Cat”

If you are a regular reader you probably know that I create children’s printables on my free early learning website Making Learning Fun.   A few months ago, someone asked me if I would make printables for the children’s book, Pete the Cat: I Love My White Shoes by Eric Litwin and James Dean.

PetetheCat

I was a little skeptical.  I sometimes get requests to make printables for books about “farting dogs”…so I am right to be skeptical.  On a whim I went over to YouTube to see if anyone had read the book and posted a video.  There were several people who had made videos of the book…my favorite is this little girl.

Isn’t that the cutest??  I totally love the book.  It would make a great Christmas present for a young kid.  Well the moral of the story is, “No matter what you step in, keep walking along and singing your song….”

I have been having one of those weeks that I really need to be reminded to keep singing my song.  Thankfully, all the “things I am stepping in” are good but right now, a little overwhelming…but all good.  My garden is bursting….my blog is blooming…the kids are going back to school…my website is being bombarded with requests…we have a bazillion things to squeeze in before summer comes to an end…and deadline after deadline is looming with new possibilities.

It would be nice to just lay on the couch and take a nap but…I am taking a lesson from “Pete the Cat”…I am going to keep walking along and singing my song…. and slowly, I’ll make it through.

I’m singing mine in my red shoes….they are the ugliest shoes ever but oh so comfortable….

Are any of you inspired by “Pete the Cat”…or am I the only one “stepping in things”.

“I love my red shoes.  I love my red shoes.  I love my red shoes…I love my red shoes.”
