Over the weekend I FINALLY tackled my quilt magazines. I am one of those quilters and just can’t part with patterns that I love…but the magazines can get overwhelming.
I rip the patterns I like from magazines. I put them in sheet protectors and then into binders. When I started this process a year or so ago, I tried to be SO careful sorting the patterns into binders by category, but last night, by the time I was finishing up, I was just glad to have them in a binder. I did sort one category though…carefully, I looked at the patterns for projects I could use as leader and ender projects.
Here’s a four patch quilt that is working it’s way to the top of my leader and ender project list. I am SO happy to say that all patterns are now coraled into one spot….
on the sewing room shelf. I am so happy….now back to sewing.
Good for you! When my youngest took driver’s ed, Ihad three hours of waiting around for her, so I would bring a stack of magazines to go through. I still have at least a box load out in the garage waiting for this purge….she’s been driving 4 years, so I should get back on the band wagon! I was planning on covering my mismatched binders with a common fabric to pull them all togehter and match the sewing room decor….
Isn’t it great to get rid of some of the bulk? I probably saved too many, but it’s better than what I had before.
I think I saved to many too…but oh well. It will be easier to weed from here.
I would go through my magazines and pull out what I really wanted to keep about every four years…this is when the military moved us. Hee!!
