Sunday Stash Report….

Here’s my first stash report of the new year.  It’s kind of exciting because I am starting out ahead.  I had three finishes last week!
Crab Apple Quilt
Christmas Tree Skirt
and this Christmas quilt from last year….yes another UFO finished!  It was in the pile of quilts that needed to be quilted from my UFO list.

The quilt was made after watching this tutorial from Missouri Star Quilt Company.  At the end of the segment, they show a finished quilt….this is it.  I love trying new things so after watching the video, I order the things needed and made it but I didn’t finish it for Christmas 2009 or Christmas 2010.  I think this quilt will be a donation quilt.  There are a couple upcoming events that need donations, and I think this would work great.  The quilt is just the wrong size for me… it’s 54″ x 54″…not a lap quilt…too big for me to hang.

I love the back.  The quilt shop had the red fabric on clearance last year but there wasn’t enough.  I pieced the back together in a way that looks planned.

I freehanded some holly and berries for the quilting design.  My quilting machine is still not working the way it should but it managed to get this quilt done.

I am GLAD to have it finished….one more off the UFO pile…So 2011 is starting out WONDERFUL.

Used this Week:    15.5 yards
Used year to Date:   15.5 yards
Added this Week:     0
Added Year to Date:     0
Net Used for 2011:   15.5 Yards

I did order some fabric and it’s not here yet so next week….I’ll probably be back to zero.  That’s okay.  I am not really keeping track to use up my stash.  I’m doing it just for fun.  I’ve seen photos of some of the stashes that some quilters have on line and I am in total SHOCK.  I have a reasonable amount of fabric…but I want it to stay that way.  Keeping track keeps me remembering that having too much would be overwhelming for me…it’s kind of like stepping on the scale every Monday…unpleasant but necessary.

  1. 15 yards out? Oh my goodness. That is so great. I love your crab apple quilt. It deserved to be finished in spite of the troubles. Your Christmas tree skirt is also lovely. I need to get one made also. Then this lovely quilt. Girl, you are on a roll. Congrats!

  2. Congrats on your stellar start to stash management! Very pretty project. Can you tell me what the fabric line is? A small wallhanging I recently bought looks like it was made from a charm pack of the same fabric in your skirt and I am wondering what it is. Happy New Year!
