I am working of Bonnie Hunter’s mystery quilt, Roll Roll Cotton Ball. I worked quickly through clue one and clue two but clue three….UGH. Clue three requires foundation piecing.
I’ve never really done foundation piecing before….I think it’s too much like paper piecing and goodness knows if you have read my blog for any amount of time, you know paper piecing and I just don’t mix the best.
For the mystery I need 60 – 8.5″ square foundation pieced blocks….I’m chugging along….not as fast as I would like but I’m still chugging. I am using up all the scraps I have and have even started to cut into my fabric. Being I don’t count my used fabric until the entire project is finished, I can’t count it yet but I am sewing.
This week totals…
6 yards of scrap fabric in and 3 yards of Kona black in…
0 yards out.
I need the black Kona to bind one quilt and border a different quilt. I am getting the one bound this week, period, no excuses. I have a quilt in the quilting machine….my Crab Apples. Watch this week for some finished quilts!
I can’t end the post without saying Happy Birthday to my son Karl…My little boy turned 18 today. As of today I have four “grown” kiddos…. Wow…. I guess the days of dinosaurs, dressing up to be a soldier and Harry Potter are gone for good. :(
