So the strings aren’t challenging me right now…life is! It’s all good but there are just times when sadly, sewing doesn’t fit into life. Around here being married to a farmer is both vacation and fall house work time. He’ll be harvesting in a month or so and will have no extra time until about mid November if all goes well. That means everything that I need extra help with around here needs to start getting done. We’ve been married long enough to know that we’ll make it through harvest a little better if the house here is in order.
He also took a few days off so we tried to get away for a day…and then back to the house here. For us the house is a labor of love so we’re perfectly fine not doing a big vacation.
So what have I been up to in the sewing department?
VERY LITTLE.
VERY-VERY LITTLE.
That’s okay though. Mid September will be here before I know it. Hubby will be in the field and I will need something to entertain myself.
I got the shirt orders out…this is the second box I got processed. The first was already out in the truck by the time I stopped to take a picture.
I started moving a few things around in the sewing room after our day away thrifting in Rochester…The table in the front is going on a garage sale…Did I tell you we’re hosting a garage sale/vintage sale at my house next weekend? Oh my…another iron in the fire!
When we went away for the day I did find a new to me ironing board which was needed…more on it later.
Oh…and this cabinet with goodies on it…more on it later too.
and I did this….I pinned double wedding ring blocks all the way to Rochester and back home again. Now I need time to sew them as I’m almost out of pins.
That’s all I got done in the sewing department. That’s all okay though. At this time of year, it’s hard to get much more than that done. You’re going to love some of the upcoming blog posts when I have more time to tell you about some of those goodies that got dumped off in my sewing room. I can’t wait to get a chance to first clean and organize….then play up there.
I don’t anticipate much sewing time this week again! I have to get ready for the garage sale. We’ll be having it Thursday, Friday 4-8 and Saturday 8-12. If you’re in the area and want to pick up a T-shirt, then would be a great time!! I only have a few left in each size. You can reserve your shirt and I can have it waiting for you to get here. You can also try it on if you like before buying. For me, I’ve taken some in large and some in extra large. Weird I know…
Never been to a garage sale in the evening. What a great idea!
I have the yellow woven sewing basket; it was my paternal grandmother’s and it is filled with her old sewing notions. I have seen it in other colors, but not the yellow. I think of her every time I see it.
I got my shirt today. We have been on vacation and lots to catch up,on here !
