Sticky Buns with the Ratio Recipe

Sometime ago, I gave you my ratio recipe for bread, buns, rolls, pizza dough and fry bread.  Here’s another thing I make with the same ratio recipe…Sticky Buns.

These are a real family favorite that I enjoy making.

Take the original ratio recipe that can be found here.  Make a ration using 3 cups of water.  While the bread is rising take a sauce pan and add:
4 scoops of vanilla ice cream
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 stick butter

Bring to a boil.  Put the mixture into a 9 x 13 pan.  Sprinkle a hand full of chopped pecans over the mixture.

Roll out the dough.  Put a thin coat of butter along with a sprinkling of brown sugar and cinnamon over the dough.  Roll and cut.  Put the rolls into the mixture.

Bake just as for regular cinnamon rolls…about 25 minutes at 350.

Take the pan out of the oven.

Place a larger jelly roll pan over the top and invert the pan.

Let them cool for a few minutes and then eat one because I promise, they won’t be around for very long!!

Today I am hooking up with Patchwork Times.

  1. Looks and sounds great..just wondering why ice cream instead of milk? I will make this as I love pecan buns! Thanks!

  2. The sticky buns look yummy. I’ll be right over to get one. For my family of two who are diabetic, these would last a couple months.

  3. These look delicious. Funny thing, i just made cinnamon rolls with your recipe this morning, fantastic as usual:)

  4. Not fair, Jo! Just had a day with yoghurt & fruit at 8am, a sandwich at 4.30 and a packet of crisps at 10pm. Could eat several of those buns – but then I’d be awake all night!

  5. Your bread recipe sounds delicious but please explain more exactly “serving spoon” when measuring the yeast. Not sure if you mean teaspoon size or more like a tablespoon and it could make a whooping difference in the outcome of the recipe. Thanks for sharing your mouthwatering creations !!!

    Jo,
Couldn’t get to your original recipe. It just kept bringing me back to your sticky buns. Is it listed somewhere on the blog site maybe. Thanks. Daisy
