Last night late, I got back from a whirlwind weekend with Bonnie Hunter. It was so fun. My daughter Kelli went with me and both of us said we would do it again in a heart beat.
Here we are with Bonnie. I have to tell you a bit about our shirts….In the first workshop, Pineapple Blossoms, someone mentioned that Bonnie should get Quiltville T-shirts. Kelli and I thought it was a great idea….we’d buy one.
Shortly after that we went down to lunch. The workshop was being held at Buena Vista University and lunch was in their cafeteria. As we pasted the bookstore on our way to lunch Kelli and I were talking about T-shirts. We decided on the way back to class that we would stop at the bookstore and buy a T-shirt and have Bonnie sign it. What luck to find they had bright yellowish shirts…it reminded up of the cheddar color Bonnie puts in so many of her quilts.
Here’s Bonnie signing our shirts….
…..and here she is teasing us….
It was a hoot! Bonnie was so fun and so personable. She didn’t care what our sewing abilities were….she worked with everyone from whatever sewing abilities they had. She was always teasing and chatting and notably smiling. It is so nice to be around people who truly love what they are doing!
I’ll tell you more about class and show you a few more pictures tomorrow….but for now I’ll update you a tad on my stash report…just to keep me honest.
Both of these bags contain lots of fabric….some for backs…many “what’s left on the bolt”….Right now I can’t find the receipts and I’m so pooped I’m not up to remeasuring the fabric so for now…that’s as much stash reporting as I am up for. I’ll give complete disclosure next Sunday…..For more stash reports…some that include real number…check out Patchwork Times.
That looks like a great time was had by all! Lucky you!
It seems Bonnie next comes to the far western tip of Kentucky, by
Paducah, Ky. I think she should think of a trip here.

Thanks for the update on Bonnie and her trunk show. So very jealous! Looks like you’re having a grand time!
Also took a class with Bonnie last year! Great fun-great teacher! Looks like a good time was had by all :-)
Jo, Bonnie is great in every way. I’m so glad your DH made you go. What a great idea to have her sign T-Shirts. I’ll bet Quiltville T-Shirts are going to be available at some point in the future. I’ll get one too! Seems like lots of us, although not so fortunate to spend the weekend with Bonnie, put damage to their reports this week. I’m sure you got some great things stuffed in those two bags. Hope you and Kelli got far into the Pineapple Blossoms quilt. Sandi
