Stash Report Sunday

I didn’t get much sewing time this week so no fabric out….
but my belated birthday present arrived.  The fabric was SUPER cheap.

StashReport

My hubby didn’t know what to get me for my birthday so I said, “I could order fabric and you could be off the hook.”  He said order and so….I ordered.  Here are 32 half yard cuts…total cost $75!  That’s about $2.35 per half yard.  Z&S fabrics had a SUPER sale just before Christmas.   I am hoping to make the Miss Rosies Quilt Company pattern that is in the photo with the fabric.  I’ve been wanting to make a log cabin quilt and this is the one for me.   Don’t plan on seeing any sewing done on this pile anytime soon.  I have a couple charity quilts that need to be finished and I am still determined to get my Roll, Roll Cotton Ball quilt finished and more of my UFO’s finished….so no new big projects for a month..probably two!

The winner of yesterdays giveaway is….
#8 KT who said, “I vote for the first layout, though I like the way the blocks look right next to each other as well. Good luck deciding!”

Thanks for all the suggestions for my Roll, Roll Cotton Ball. The comments were split pretty much half and half.   After reading through all the suggestions, I have determined to not decide until I get the borders sewn together.  I hate making decisions.  The good news is that I love BOTH options so it’s not a loss or gain with either choice.

So for this week…
Used this Week:    0 yards
Used year to Date:   15.5 yards
Added this Week:     16 yards
Added Year to Date:     16 yards
Net Used for 2011:   -.5 Yards

Next week, I’ll have fabric out so I’ll be back in the black. I am hoping to get a quilt on the quilting machine today….hopefully the machine will work better than it has been.

  1. I was so busy getting the borders sewn on RRCB I missed your giveaway!
If you want a big quilt, I’d set the mystery like Bonnie suggests. Personally I think the border pulls it all together. The only left to do on mine is a stay stitch around the edge.

Great birthday present too! That was a great sale!

  2. I love the fabrics for your new project! ‘Course, I’m partial to R/W/B. :) I missed the “Great Debate” post, but I debated about adding the string blocks to the mystery too…the blocks look good by themselves as well! Good luck!

  3. Great choice of fabrics for Heartland! I have that pattern and a big bag of Minick & Simpson fabrics just ready to be cut, but I need to finish up some UFOs first. There are a scary number of HSTs in that pattern!

  4. Oh come on. What’s the harm of starting another project? LOL Lovely fabrics and great pattern. When I first saw the pattern I thought its name was Hear Hand and that didn’t make any sense. Upon studying it I figured out it was Heartland. Duh. Happy Birthday. Enjoy your stash, new and old.
