Stash Report

Finding the right color of fabric has gotten much easier for me since I got my Moda color card and have started only using Moda Bella Solids…..but it hasn’t made having the right color on hand any easier.

This week Kelli and I finished up a quilt we have coming up for publication.  I guess “finished” isn’t quite the right word.  We got the quilt as far along as we could until we came to the binding.  UGH!!

Fabric
We had the darker red…we had the lighter red.  BUT…we didn’t have the medium red.

A quick check to Fat Quarter Shop and we had it ordered- 3/4 of yard for binding.  Then I went upstairs and started quilting the quilt on the frame.  Crap.  That needs to be bound in the same color.  Back to Fat Quarter Shop and another order.  Within two days it was in my mailbox.  That’s great service!!

Here’s the official report.

Used this Week:  0 yards

Used year to Date:  53 yards store bought +  36 Moda fabric + 5 yards of recycled fabric… To see other stash reports, check out Patchwork Times.

Check out some other fun things we have going on…I

  1. I love ordering from Fat Quarter Shop. Their service is almost too quick. Ha! I ordered extra wide backing for a quilt from them … and entered the amount in number of FEET, rather than YARDS. I called their 800 number when I realized my error (less than 12 hours later), and the fabric hard already shipped. But other than that occasion, I love the quick turnaround!!
