I have new fabric in and I think I might need to get more…
Remember this summer when I made a double wedding ring quilt for my son and his wife for their wedding…. Well our daughter, Kelli, is getting married in March and also wants a double wedding ring quilt. Only problem…Kelli is more picky.
She wants this version. There is more of a four patch where the arcs connect and she wants the square on the edge of the quilt.
Buck and Jen’s quilt had more of diamonds where the arcs meet and they didn’t have the square along the edge.
Kelli does want navy for the background only all the same color of navy. Without looking at the pattern I just picked up six yards…then got home and read the pattern.
The quilt shown is only 55″ x 72″ and calls for 5 yards background for the quilt and 7/8 yard for binding. UGH. We need it way bigger than that! She wants queen sized…so back to fabric store for me.
Used this Week: 1.5 yards store bought for charity quilt bindings
Used year to Date: 188.5 yards store bought + 48.5 Moda fabric + 62.5 yards of recycled fabric…
I really like Jen and Buck’s quilt. I can’t wait to see the colors Kelli has chosen for her wedding quilt. According to my calculations you’re going to have to more than double the size of that quilt to make it queen sized. (Nine inches per circle X 11 circles per side equals 99″x99″.) You better hurry and get the rest of the navy before it is sold out. Good luck, I’ll be following your progress. :-)
Very beautiful quilt! This is definitely on my bucket list of quilts that I will make one day! :) ~Melanie
I am going to do one of these one day. I’ve even ordered the Inklingo shapes to do it with. Just not on the top of the priority list as none of my kiddos are close to marrying
