Stash Report

I’ve about given up on keeping stash reports.  I have different circumstances than some so it’s hard.  For example, this treasure trove of fabric arrived this week courtesy of Moda.

Isn’t the fabric the cutest??  This is from “Oink a Doodle Moo” fabric line.  I LOVE the fabric and so does Kelli.  We had a little struggle over who was going to get to sew the project.  It will be upcoming on Moda Bake Shop.  If you are going to need a baby quilt, this fabric is cute, cute, cute!!

I also bought some other fabric this week but that’s for two other projects that I can’t talk about yet too….

I’ve decided that I’m not going to report in fabric anymore….it’s to the point that some is shared fabric with Kelli….some is for projects that aren’t really mine.  Instead, I am just going to report fabric out that’s complete.  I really don’t have a huge stash that I need to monitor anyway so that’s how I am going to report-fabric out only.

I did have a bit of fabric out.  I finished a small tumbler place mat.  If you missed it, you can see it and mini tutorial here. I have a quilt on the quilting frame so hopefully I will have another UFO completed this week!

Here are my numbers…

Used this Week:   .5 yards

Used year to Date:  14 yards  +  13.5 Moda

Net Used for 2012:  9.5 Yards of store bought fabric…0 yards of recycled fabric…

  1. Jo,
I think you can forget the whole stash report. No one really cares. All we enjoy about your blog are the beautiful quilts, family stories and watching that adorable puppy grow. We all have more fabric than we will ever use. Who Cares!!!!

  2. Hmmm. . . I wonder what quilt is on the machine???? I put the last stitches in my Pineapple Blossom tonight! I was thinking of you, as that is the class we took in Storm Lake with Bonnie. I don’t keep track of the stash. . .just the UFOs and thanks to your motivation, I have finished 2 since the beginning of the year! I am on a roll and it looks like you are too!

  3. Jo, I’m with you on this. i think what you said makes perfect sense.
However or why the fabric got into our stashes, it’s getting it out that really matters and that’s all that should matter. So how we count it or when we count it wil vary from quilter to quilter, so long as the fabric is no longer in our stashes.

  4. I would never report on fabric out: I have too much for it to make any difference!! I did just make a baby quilt for a grand-nephew, (and all out of my stash, thank goodness!!!), but it doesn’t make even the tiniest dent!!! :-) I’d be alot better off if the fabric companies would quit making so much beautiful and fun fabric!!
