Stash Report

Coming up this Saturday I am doing a review of the Quiltmaker’s Shoppe in Manchester, Iowa.  Here’s a sneak peak of what I got there.

Kelli and I both had a few things we were shopping for when we went.  I think that’s a good habit to be in otherwise I end wanting it all!!  Here it is…..

Stash-Quiltmakers-1

We were both looking for fabric for the Bonnie Hunter mystery.  I am slightly changing colors but not a lot.  I am taking the coral to melon and changing it to coral to orange…no pinkish colors at all.  I was short on browns so was very happy to find some.  I am using all batiks….Kelli is too…Connie too.

I also found this piece.  I really love it.  I have Bonnie Hunter’s Scrap Crystal quilt mostly cut out.  I haven’t touched it since spring (maybe longer).  If I remember correctly I don’t have borders and sashing for it.  This would work really well so I bought it in case….if it doesn’t go in that quilt, it will make it’s way into another.  The picture doesn’t show it the best but there is a hint of green in it too.

The last thing I bought was this…Transfer-Eze.

Remember I bought this pattern at River Road Quilt Shop?

I want the transfer-eze to do the stitching along the bottom of the little “Home” pillow.  I’ve put this on hold waiting for a chance to shop and get the transfer-eze.

So that’s what I added to stash.  I’m eagerly awaiting the mystery…I can’t wait to see how my batiks come together!!

One of my blog friends told me that if I stopped at four quilt shops my credit card must have been “smoking”!  I’ll admit…it was a bit.  That’s okay though.  I’ve been finishing a lot of projects lately and I’ve been stashing some money aside for when we went on this trip.  I knew I’d want to buy a few things.

We had fun at Quiltmaker’s Shoppe in Manchester, Iowa.  I’m sure we’ll be back again!!

  1. Jo, be sure to let us know your experience with the Transfer-Eze. I tried it and had a HORRIBLE time with it. When I went back to the fabric store to see what I had done wrong, the saleslady told me that she and a couple of customers had the same problems. The ink “floated” and settled in other areas and some of it did not come out.

  2. Jo, I don’t know if it is me or I just don’t see the post about the Manchester quilt shop. The Cedar Falls quilt shop post is on the blog. I get a 404 error with the link.

  3. Can you or have you posted a picture of what you are using for Scrap Crystals? I am taking Bonnie’s workshop on it and trying to decide on colors. Thanks!
