About 4 years ago I fell in love with neutrals. I used to think a neutral was a neutral was a neutral but not anymore. Now I look more carefully for neutrals than I do any other fabric.
When we were in Clear Lake for Antiques in the park Kelli and I planned a little time away from the booth so we could go to Larson’s Mercantile which is a block or two from the park. We always stop by as they have reasonably priced fabric and literally a little bit of everything else. That’s where I found the fabrics…..All of them are fun prints and most of them have words on the fabric. I LOVE fabric with words.
Here’s a closer up picture. Don’t you LOVE the little bunny fabric on the left?I sure do. They will be so fun in a quilt! I can’t wait to cut into these but right now- I have no plans other than having the pieces going into the stash. I’ll be watching for something to use these on for sure.
While we were there, we even found panels that we used to make our Oink-a-doodle-Moo quilts that were featured on Moda Bakeshop. We get messages from people all the time who are looking for this panel but it’s no longer in print.
If you want some of it. Contact them not and snap it up. They did have a few of the coordinating prints as well. I was tempted but I’m trying REALLY hard to not buy as much….at least stuff that I just come across and haven’t been intentionally looking for (not including thrift store fabric). Who am I fooling (NO ONE)!!! At least you can see that I do say no occasionally!!
I’ll always be looking for fun neutrals….ALWAYS. Is there a fabric that always tempts you? I’d love to hear about it.
Any fabric with swirls. :)
Because of your gorgeous Texas Tumbleweed, my newest obsession is collecting 1/2 yards of batiks. I’m struggling with finding batik lights and neutrals as I’m drawn to rich shades! I enjoy hunting for just the right pieces!
I’m always on the look out for a certain yellow, not too bright and not too pastel. Anything with paisley is always desired.
For me, it’s green. I dislike yellow greens, but I adore deep forest/hunter greens. My hope is to one day have a deep green car, but very few manufacturers offer that color. Sigh.
Scraps-I am sucker for scrap bags in quilt stores. I have even asked them to put all of the remainders from the GO! cutter area into a bag. That sweet lady just gave those to me. Fabric with words and polka dots are pretty hard for me to resist.
what fun neutrals! If I lived close enough, I would rush out and buy some too! I love fabric with words too!
thanks for sharing your loot!
I love neutrals with text also!
Those neutrals are just perfect1 I like the ones with words too. And I can’t resist polka dots!
