I don’t need any more fabric…none at all. Â But how can I pass up a bag of fabric on a garage sale for 25 cents. Â I can’t.
The bag was tied shut so I have no idea what was in it. Â I just knew there was fabric.
I was happily surprised to find good quality fabric and some beads too. Â The beads were mostly pony beads that I put in with the childcare goodies. Â They love stringing beads.
So tell me…would you pass up a bag of fabric for a 25 cents even if you already had plenty of fabric?
I don’t what it is about me but I love a deal…not the deal at the clothing store where a shirt is priced at $30 and is always 50% off….I mean thrifting deals. Â I’m addicted…Not is a scary hoarding way…but addicted none-the-less. Â Right now my favorite finds are childcare things and sewing things…an clothes for Carver.
One day thrifting I found these awesome dinosaurs. Â They go together kind of like a puzzle.
The same day I got a doctor kit and a lego set. Â The kids have been so happy with all of the goodies. Â At my thrift store, these went for $2.50. Â Things are priced to sell and they really do sell. Â I love that they take the profits and put it back into the community too.
I can’t tell how many days that finds I’ve come up with have put a smile on face….dare I say it’s almost like a drug. Â Oh well…there are worse habits. Â Thankfully mine is within my budget and doesn’t hurt anyone.
Back to my fabric though…I counted and it’s about 2 1/2 yards worth…25 cents. Â Who can beat that??
I would not be able to pass that deal up even though I have a large stash. It is probably a good thing that I don’t go to garage sales or thrift stores often.
I need to know the name of your thrift store
Must have been the day to thrift shop. I got lots of clothing items and four more shirts for quilting.
I love great deals and the hunt for them. I even went through a spell of buying around 20 items every 2 weeks when one of our great local thrift stores would have 10 cent day on items that had been there around a month. Good name brand current style clothing in perfect shape. Then I would take them to a battered woman’s shelter and thrift store in a lower income area where they were greatly appreciated. I was needing to go to this other area about 100 miles away on a fairly regular basis. It was such a high to be able to do this.
I would of paid the 25 cents just so I could open it and be surprised. I recently discovered string quilts and I love having lots of fabric choices. Great find
I see fabric at garage sales, but I don’t know if it’s 100% cotton or not, so I pass it up. Do you care if it’s 100% cotton? Do people use polyester or other non-cotton fabrics in their quilts?
