So I caved and bought fabric. Â I’ve been trying really hard to only buy backings but I was writing a blog post the other night and had to flip over to Facebook to get a picture. Â That’s when I saw in my news feed that Homestead Hearth was having their fat quarter blow out sale.
I’ve ordered from their blow out sale before and was VERY pleased with what I got. Â Being I do primarily scrappy quilts, fat quarters is the way for me to buy fabric to get the scrappy look I love. Â RARELY unless it’s backing fabric do I buy more than a fat quarter…unless it might be sashing fabric.
I went to their website and got a even more excited when I saw that they were offering batiks in the blow out sale. Â I’ve been trying to gradually add to my batik collection but haven’t had the best of luck with that. Â Typically batiks are more expensive and so far, as I’ve bought, I’ve consumed. Â I have three quilts right now that are cut out that are batik quilts. Â Needless to say, I got click happy.
That’s a lot I know but in my defense, the batiks were 10 for $13.99. Â I really won’t get them much cheaper. Â They offered them in neutral, pinks, blues, greens and “earth” (brownish mostly) Â I got some of each.
Here’s a closer look so you can see the variety.
I’m loving them! Â Now I feel like I have enough variety to make a quilt again.
Now I need to try to stay away from buying fabric for a bit….But you all know how that goes.
If you’re wanting to check out the blow out sale, here’s the link.
THe limk goes to Quilted Twins. Is that the same as Homestead Hearth?
Oops. Here is the updated link. https://www.homesteadhearth.com/shop/An-Online-Blowout.htm
Although your link took me to the Quilted Twins site (I’ve ordered from them also), I found the Homestead Hearth site. You twisted my arm and I had to order. Just kidding. I also don’t have batiks in my stash. I would like to make a batiks quilt and these should give me a great variety. Apparently they were out of the bright greens and reds, but I still got a good variety.
Here is the link that I used https://www.homesteadhearth.com/shop/An-Online-Blowout.htm
I ordered some neutrals and the 1800 reproductions, thank you for info on the sale. Now I have another shop to follow on line.
Yes, it is good to buy online but don’t forget your local quilt shops. Let’s keep them in business also.
Enabler! :)
Thanks for the tip.
Beautiful! Ca’t pass up a bargain like that!
