No change in my stash report from last week. I am hoping for something to happen there next week though. I have a quilt on the quilting frame so with any luck it will be done and finished for next week’s report.
I made a little progress on my pineapple blocks.
7 more done this week bringing my total to 45 finished!
Friday night I spent about two hours sorting through tiny scraps…I know…don’t say it…Trust me my hubby already has. I’m nuts to be saving and using the junk.
I have three bowls now for my pineapple blocks: colored triangles that are bigger, colored triangles that are small and white triangles. I am hoping this will help make the block construction go a bit faster. I’ll let you know if it works.
My official stash report….

I love your pineapple blocks. Looks like lots of work. I will be watching for the finished project.
Love how your scrappy pineapple blocks, very bright and fun.
I don’t think you are crazy at all!! I think you are brilliant and creative…looks like a great system you have of organizing the needed pieces for your next masterpiece!
I’ve started the same quilt. Your not the only one nut’s. I save every scrap of fabric I can. You never know when you will need them. With the price of fabric being so high. This is like getting a free quilt. Saved from trash made into a treasure.
I love your pineapple blocks; are you using a foundation in piecing them? I often tell myself it is silly for me to piece with scraps when I have so much yardage in my stash–but scrappy quilts are spectacular when done.
Gorgeous blocks, and you’re not nuts or there’s a lot of us nuts out here, hehe.
I save itty bitty pieces, too. I have to be persuaded to let them go–many times they are really too small for me to piece with. I read somewhere about saving the itty bitty scraps and using it as filling for stuffed animals and such.
The pineapple blocks are beautiful!
WE ARE NOT NUTS! No we are not. With fabric costs so high, blah, blah, blah. :)
Your blocks look great. Isn’t if fun picking the fabrics for each spot???
I too love your pineapple blocks. I just got Bonnie Hunter’s new book (partly because of the pineapple block quilt) and I’ve been feeling really daunted by the pattern. There are 45 pieces in that itty-bitty block! But I have so many tiny pieces saved that I think I may attempt a few anyway.
Thanks for the inspiration!

Your blocks are so bright and happy!
Your pineapple block stack is growing!!! Look how much color is in each block from using so many different pieces of fabric. This is the definition of a scrap quilt–many small pieces. If you like the size–then it is perfect for you. People will always comment on things–they want to connect. I love to use my time to create~~and my heritage is from people who tried to get as much out of something they bought as they can. So this is a part of you, and I would not want to change it!! It is better to use them, than throw them in a landfill, or throw them in a box to be used someday. Soon, someone you love will be under this quilt, and then you will realize you are the most sane person you know!!
A project like this is a wonderful study in value. This promises to be a bright and cheery quilt.
Your pineapple blocks look great!
What will the finished size of your pineapple blocks be? Still waiting patiently for my book to arrive.
Thanks for sharing you system, Now I know what I can use those little pieces of fabric for.
