Stash Report

Some people dread getting the mail…they seem to think that all that comes in junk mail and bills.  No me.  Getting the mail here is always fun.  It’s especially fun when I get a box of goodies.

Stash-3-3

This box came from Nancy K in Florida.

Even more than the fabric, I always treasure the notes.  One thing I hate as a blogger is that readers get to know me and I end up knowing little about my readers.  It’s always so nice for me learn a little about them too.

Nancy writes that she too read the book  The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up: The Japanese Art of Decluttering and Organizing by Marie Kondo. (read the book review here)  In the book she says, “If it doesn’t bring you joy, get rid of it”.  She admits that she never loved quilting.  She did it to spend time with her sister.  Now she realizes that she doesn’t want all the stuff…it doesn’t bring her joy anymore.

Nancy is gifted a box of goodies to me and has plans to gift some to the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota.  That made me smile too.  I’ve gotten several notes and pictures from blog readers who decided to support the school with a gift of fabric and craft supplies.  I’m SO-SO happy that some of you found it to be a worthy cause as I did.

I think Nancy brings up such an important point…if whatever you have no longer brings joy to you, it’s okay to pass it on.  Happily I’ve found another place that accepts donations and will be telling you about that soon.

Thanks so much Nancy…I appreciate your gift.  Know that already the pink fabrics have found their way into this project.

Today we’re hooking up with Patchwork Times.
