Last weekend Kelli and I made a road trip to Dubuque, Iowa. Â It’s only about a two hour drive. Â We were heading that way to meet up with our blog reader Ila and her husband Tom. Â We’ve long loved Ila and have met up with her several times. Â It’s always so fun.
Ila is known for gift giving. Â We have tried and tried to convince her that seeing her is the gift but she just doesn’t listen. Â She brings gifts anyway.
For me scrap goodies. Â Since this photo was taken I already have them trimmed up, organized and in the corresponding bin. Â Yahoo!! Â I am keeping my promise to process scraps right away.
Ila brought Kelli a box of gluten free goodies. Â She finds the best stuff…In the box were the amazing caramels that I love..and have to ration!! Â Thankfully Hubby likes them too so I don’t eat them all! Â Check out the fun fabric for making a kids book. Â So cute with the alphabet.
From reading the blog Ila knew that I was planning on doing the Rug Along that Mary at Country Threads is hosting. Â She wondered if I might be able to make a frame with an old curtain stretcher. Â I have it in the garage and plan to consult Hubby about it once he’s not in the field.
The gifts and lunch were truly appreciated and very fun but nothing-NOTHING-beats seeing Ila. Â THANKS!!
Today we’re hooking up with Patchwork Times.
Hi Jo,
I read your blog everyday and I love it. I only read two blogs and your blog is one of them. I was on a bus shop hop last weekend and my girlfriend and I started talking about how much we like your blog but that recently there are so many ads on your blog. I know that this is how you make money, but when an ad is covering up your words on your blog and it takes three try’s to get the ad to go away or else if you don’t tap the “X” just right, another webpage comes up to try and sell you something. This is very frustrating! I thought that you would want to know this is happening before you start losing readership.
Regards,
Kathy
I made a quilt out of that adorable alphabet fabric – turned out adorable!! All those animals – too cute!! What great gifts, along with the visit!!
I totally agree with Kathy, the first commenter. Yesterday the ad popped up right over the paragraph I was reading, right out of nowhere. But I read your blog every day, and check back for updates throughout the day.
I’ve been looking for the alphabet fabric to make a quilt for my new grandson. Can you give me more information about it such as the manufacturer? TIA. Lisa. Golddust@kpunet.net
Jo, I’m so happy you enjoyed visiting your friend in Dubuque! I am in Dubuque too! Ila sounds like a perfect, very generous friend.
*no problem with pop-up ads that I’ve ever seen here on your blog.
