Stash Report

When Hubby and I went away a bit ago, I discovered a fabric shop in Monona, Iowa.  Saturday I took Kelli there so we could really check it out.  The shop is called “The Mall”.  The shop is THREE stories filled with fabric.  I came away with this little stack.

The cheddars are half yard cuts.  The pinkish one is too.  The dark was a remnant that’s just under a half yard.  Total cost $11.  Yep…that’s right.  That fabric there is really cheap.

The shop has been there for a long time…probably since the 80’s.  Some of the fabric has been there since the start and that’s why the prices are so low.  When we went to check out the basement we found wool..much was only $9 a yard.  There were bolts and bolts and bolts of poly/cotton fabric that would have been perfect for a Bonnie Hunter quilt that looked like it was made from shirts.  I think the fabric was from western shirt sewing days.

It was an adventure.  Kelli and I will be back again..especially if we need some backing fabric.

Here’s my numbers for the week.

Used this Week:   0  yards
Used year to Date:   33  yards

Added this Week:    2.5 yards
Added Year to Date:    30  yards (12 from Moda)

Net Used for 2012:  3 Yards of store bought fabric…5 yards of recycled fabric…
