Stash Report

A couple of times every week I sit down and plan out blog posts for the next couple days.  On Friday I started to wonder what I was going to write about for a stash report.  I only had binding on a charity quilt to record and I didn’t have any new fabric in.  Well that sounded like a boring blog post.  As I worked during the day I tried to think about something I could say in the stash report but again nothing came to me.

Well I went to get the mail on Friday and there was a box in my mailbox.  I got to the house and opened it up…

Scraps
FABRIC!!!!  Nancy from PA was doing more cleaning and organizing and sent scrap my way.  There is lots of red fabric in the box and the funny thing is Kelli and I were just thinking about sewing up the quilt that I designed that’s in the picture and offering it as a free pattern on the blog.  I needed lots of reds.  Initially I was just planning on buying a solid red and have the rest of the quilt scrappy.  Well with the arrival of Nancy’s box, my plans have changed.  Nancy’s reds are going to make up the reds of the quilts.  I think it’s going to be lots of scrappy goodness that I just can’t wait to dive into.

Thanks so much Nancy…your timing was perfect and the fabric much appreciated.  It will be put to good use!

If you missed my charity quilt I did use about a half yard for binding it.  You can see it here.

Used this Week:  .5 yards

Used year to Date:  75 yards store bought +  54.5 Moda and gifted fabric + 11 yards of recycled/thrifted fabric…

  1. I like what I can make out of the new quilt. I can’t wait to see it happen. Please keep us updated. You two work so quickly!

  2. You are so lucky that you can quilt w your DD! I don’t have any one in my family that is interested, but one of the grands…. How ever they are still very flighty and hard to keep on task. So far we have made PJ bottoms.

  3. Glad they are fabrics you can use. Also glad you don’t mind me sending my ‘unwanted’ scraps your way. I have a box ready to send this week to you and one more area to clean before the last box gets mailed. I am amazed what you & Kelly can do with scraps.

  4. What perfect timing for you to get some reds! I am looking forward to seeing that quilt done up with the reds, and also looking forward to the free pattern. It definitely looks like something I would like to make. :)
