All of last week, we were under the hype of bad weather over the weekend. Then, as the weekend came, the hype shifted to Sunday/Monday. I hadn’t made any Saturday plans early in the week because of the hype. So on Friday, when I saw Kalissa, I said it had been forever since we had been shopping in Sumner or to the Amish. She said she was free Saturday morning, so we should go. I was all in!
We ended up going to the Amish first…The bakery was our first stop. It was windy, and as I was getting into the car, Gannon, in the back seat, said, “Man, Grandma. Your hair sure got windy.” HA!! My hair did “get windy”, but that didn’t stop us from taking a picture to mark the day.

We had Anders and Gannon with us. They were so funny and cute. This was taken at one of the Bent and Dent grocery stores. This particular store often has a few other things besides groceries.

From there, Kalissa suggested we go to Sumner and hit up Maker’s Market. I’ve told you about the store. It is my absolute favorite store for anything vintage, antique, or decor that fits in with antiques.

The shop isn’t huge, but it’s chock-full of goodness. I love all things fabric-related. Isn’t the little bunny picture so cute?? That’s made of fabric.

I like the little Easter eggs, too.
So many cute things!!

I like the carrot pillow and the stuffed bunnies.

I loved this old pillow. It was made from an old quilt. LOVE-LOVE. If my grandkids were a little bigger and didn’t drag all my pillows around, I’d be tempted to get it.

There were LOTS of stuffed bunnies. Do you see the big pillow on the right?

Kalissa and I both liked it too. Hmm. I wonder if I have a good cutter quilt around here??

The vintage goodies are fun too…the yellow bowls…

We had the boys with so we couldn’t do the best looking…

I sure tried to pack as much as I could into my brain…knowing I was missing things but wishing I wasn’t.

Look at these stuffed cuties.

I LOVED these hearts…so cute and so simple.

Here I am showing off one of the hearts to Kalissa. SO CUTE!!

Check out the pretty vintage quilt on the bed!!

Of course I didn’t miss the quilt pincushions on zinc lids. I do think I have some zinc lids in the basement. Hmm.

They always have some piece of furniture that catches my eye.

What a cute bunny.

I told Kalissa she should buy this piece. But she’s fighting the problem of having room…just like I am.

We had such a lovely time…I bought two things. Any guesses on what they might be??
Stay tuned. I’ll show them to you tomorrow.
If you are wondering where the shop is. It’s on Main Street in Sumner, Iowa, across from the theater. If something caught your eye and you’d like Sally, the shop owner’s number, leave a comment, and I’ll send you her number. Seriously…it’s the cutest shop ever.

This was such a fun trip with you and grands. Need to go back and look at all the photos again. That’s the kind of shopping I miss.
What a great shop, I have always enjoyed browsing in it whenever you and Kalissa visit it. I loved those big bunnies! So many good things to tempt one. I like those kind of shops.
I’m sure you got a little heart and hoping you got the flower quilt pillow you loved. Just tell the boys it’s your special pillow and it’s not to be played with. Kids can certainly learn to respect nice things, especially if you start them young.
I love all the bunnies. They were so cute. I saw a quilt on the back of a chair that looked nice and I was hoping you’d look at it, but I’m thinking other quilts are too interesting to you. The store does look nice. I expect you bought a bunny and a pin cushion?
I love this shop and have been there a few times, always decorated to the nines. I appreciate that you share with us how you really look on windy days, lol. So glad you had the chance to just go and play with Kalissa and the boys, what fun.
What a fun store. A person could browse for hours. My guess is one of those cute chenille carrots and a pincushion.
