A bit ago I told you that I picked up some batiks to finish up cutting out a couple of quilts. Â I found them at Quilter’s Garden in Cresco, Iowa. Â Katie owns the shop and is a real sweetie. Â My cousin Gladie works there a few days a week too. Â If you stop and see a gal with the same chubby cheeks I have, you’ll know she’s my cousin Gladie.
I hadn’t bought batiks before so I really had no idea what shops had to offer. Â I pleasantly surprised to see that Katie had lots. Â In no time I found what I needed (and more)and was off to check out the rest of the store.
Does this quilt not scream SPRING!! Â I really like it.
There are lots of samples (a requirement for any good quilt shop) and a great building. Â Don’t you love the exposed bricks?
For a store of this size there is LOTS and LOTS of fabric to choose from.
Someday I’m making a novelty print quilt and I’m sure some of the fabric is bound to come from here…
There are all sorts of cute things to tempt Grandmas.
Lots and lots of patterns too.
The shop also sells sewing machines.
I am going to have to remember that Katie carries DMC embroidery floss too. Â Liking rural like we do it’s often hard to find it without driving an hour to get it. Â Check out these cute-cute towels with the snowmen.
I love embroidery but never sit long enough to do it…That doesn’t mean that it doesn’t tempt me to buy it.
I love stopping in and chatting with Katie or one of the gals. Â They are so friendly and very helpful. Â I really appreciate that. Â You can find Quilter’s Garden information on their Facebook page here.
Lovely shop, absolutely love the butterfly quilt
Thanks for the shop tour. It’s always great to see the tempting samples.
Katie’s shop is THE BEST!!! (and so is she!!!) I’ve found just what was needed (and much more!) every time I’ve been there. Her fabric selection is amazing BUT the shop’s biggest asset is Katie herself! Her enthusiasm, creativity and quilting skills are sure to motivate and inspire anyone who drops by!!!!!
Love the shop tour and its on my bucket list the next time I see my mom in Osage. I think some of those themed fabrics are a must for my stash..
You definitely need to buy some novelty prints. Carver needs an I Spy quilt!
I’m on the lookout for novelty prints for a canning jar quilt… I’ll have to visit sometime!
