Hello and if you’re new here, welcome! Â Today as part of Sew, Mama, Sew’s giveaway, I have up for grabs a copy of “Word Play Quilts” by Tonya Ricucci.
I have made good use of my copy of the book and thought someone else might like it as well.
I Â have made TWO quilts that were inspired by the book…Here is the first project here
…and the second here. Â Ideas and tutorials to make either of the quilts can be found here.
The book is fun and gives lots of ideas for whimsical fun projects.  I was especially excited because I could personalize my daughter’s quilt….she always wanted things with her name on them, but when you name your daughter “Kalissa” (sounds like Melissa) it just doesn’t happen.  Kalissa is our youngest of five kids and will be starting her senior year in the fall.
If you’re new here you might want to check out a wonderful recipe I recently posted for Chicken Cordon Bleu Casserole (several people have tried it and were impressed), see my new baby chicks, see the latest book I read, or hear the latest about the planting season here.  Oh…and don’t forget to check out my latest quilt finish…and my latest quilting blunder…and the quilt projects I am working on now.  There is always something happening here.  I add a new post daily so there’s always something fresh to read, see or learn about.  If you are a giveaway lover, make sure to come by each Tuesday when I have a “Try it on Tuesday” post (I’m trying a new quilt book this week!).  Typically I try out new quilting books, gadgets or goodies and then host a giveaway and give them to my readers.  It’s fun!
I am not a stickler about rules and all of that…I am a easy come, easy go kind of girl. Â I don’t make people become a follower or like me on Facebook but oh my, you sure can. Â I’ll pick a winner next Tuesday which is the 29th..If you want a chance to win, Â just tell me how you got to my site…are you a current reader or are you from Sew, Mama, Sew! or did you stumble across my blog some other way. Â Oh, I’ll ship international…I love friends from across the water or across the border.
I’ve been reading your posts for a while! I can’t remember how I found you!

Hi Jo
I enjoy your site and check it almost every day. I found your site during your Crumb Along and have been reading it ever since. I had to chuckle when you described losing your blocks for Bonnie’s Blue Ridge Beauty – I also lost some and still haven’t found them!
Your crumb quilts are amazing. Thanks for all your posts.
Hi! This is my first visit and I came from Sewmamasew. I too can appreciate the name spelling dilemma – I’m a Beccy and my brother is a Nic, not too many things with our names on and Rebecca and Nicholas just wouldn’t do – the only person who ever called us that was my gran when we were being told off – Reb-e-Ca!! Nic-o-Las!! :)
I found you through Bonnie Hunter! I read your blog every time I sit down to my reader.

I love different types of quilts and fun ways to make it….
I came here from Sew, Mama, Sew.
I tried to make a quilt ‘letter’ once, and it went horribly, horribly wrong. I suppose I should give it another try since I do love pieced letters.
Your chicks are cute, by the way. We just got our first ones 5 weeks ago and they are so grown up already! They are soon moving out to their new house – we are putting the finishing touches on it. It’s just a partition in our barn, but I think they’ll like it!
