Saturday: Garden Day

Rick was at my house on Saturday too. He determined it was going to be garden day.

After working on getting the tiller going the day before, he tried it the next morning, and on his first pull, it started. Karl offered to till the garden on Monday so we put the tiller aside and started on other projects.

Rick’s goal was to finish putting the remaining wood chips down and get the flowers planted. I was all for it.

We ended up calling Carver, and he came over and helped us. We’re getting old and wanted a runner. Someone to take things here and there. HA!! Carver was great. Rick filled the pots with soil and Carver, and I planted. The lawn still looked great from Rick mowing it on Friday.

I got the big hanging planters done. I buy proven-winner petunias for the hanging baskets. Two to a basket is enough. They get huge and fill our beautifully.

The impatiens were planted earlier. They were put in the planter boxes and along the sidewalk here.

After the flowers were planted, I pulled the old tulips and had Carver take them to the garden. Rick had done the mulch here and along the fence at the edge of the house.

It all looked so nice.

Here was one more spot to mulch, but it was 4:30 and Rick made plans to stop then and make a cheesecake. Oh my word…It looked amazing.

Kalissa and her family came over for supper that night. I made Pizza Bombs recipe HERE, Macaroni Salad recipe HERE, and Scotcheroos Recipe HERE.

Kalissa took Anders and Gannon home with her, but Carver and Craig stayed. We played darts. We had an awesome time. I can’t remember if I told you but I bought and Rick hung a dart board in the garage as part of our garage up-do.

We can often be found in the garage playing darts.

It was getting late, and I asked Rick what time it was. He said 11:30 pm. Oh my. Time had flown. Craig and Carver immediately went home. Wow…the evening had flown by.

  1. Sounds like you had a wonderful day and you have the beginning of beautiful flower baskets and beds. You must have been worn out by 11:30!
