I left early Friday morning…The clock said 6:10 am. I left a bit earlier than I might normally need to, but I knew I needed gas.

My appointment went well. He was happy I wasn’t getting a lot of side effects. My blood pressure was a little high so he added in another blood pressure med. Once my blood pressure evens out, my dose will be increased. That was about it. I did ask when we would find out if the meds were working. He said that that will be determined when I have scans and tests again. That will be in three months from my start date.
I decided to stop at the thrift store that has crafts. I picked up the kitty fabric and will likely make a pillowcase for Gannon. The peach sheet was really nice too.

It was about 11:15 when I was leaving town. I drive right past where my son Buck works, so I called him and asked if I could buy him lunch. That worked, so we ate in Shueyville.
From there, I started to head home. As I was approaching the south edge of Cedar Rapids, I remembered wanting to visit my sister, and then it did not work out. I decided to give her a call and see if she was free. SHE WAS!!
So I altered my plans and went for a visit. I ended up staying a lot longer than I expected. You can imagine how long it takes for the two of us to catch up. She also has five kids, and she has double the grandkids than I do!! All of her grandkids are much older than mine. They are going to prom, getting married, and having babies! It was fun and Judy’s husband George was there too!
I finally ended up at 5:30 pm that evening. It was a long day, but wonderful. I got lots of visiting done.
Then I tried to catch up on the family message group. I hadn’t been able to see my phone most of the day. Kelli had sent this picture. One of her kids took a bite out of the stick of butter. HA!!

She later found out it was Eli…He found dandelions and rubbed them on his nose too!! Oh, that kid!!

If Georgia doesn’t, he will give Kelli gray hairs. Either way, Kelli is doomed.
Another thing I discovered…My porch goose was naked.

I had just dressed him for Cinco De Mayo. Now his clothes were gone.
I have a Ring camera at the door, so I pulled up my ring camera. I watched it, and over the course of the last 36 hours, his clothes got caught in the wind and blew away. I looked around on the lawn for them, but no luck. Now he’s naked…
As silly as he looks clothed, he looks sillier without clothes now that I’m used to him having clothes.
My back isn’t happy with the car ride, but I had a good day and a good report…and I’m guessing a good sleep will help my back. My heart is happy, and that’s most important.

That’s good news from the doctor! And you got to do fun things beside! Lunch with Buck, a thrift shop trip and a nice catchup with your sister. I’m sure you were beat by the time you got home but in a good way! My heart is happy also!
Sounds like a wonderful day. We have to enjoy them while we are able.
Wonderful report from the doctor! Glad you were able to have lunch with your son but also visit with your sister and a visit to the thrift store, I would say a pretty good day!
Good to hear the report from your doctor. I would say you had a great day with your visiting and shopping. The cat fabric is so cute – Gannon will love it! Any news of the mother cat and her babies?
Sounds like a good day!
What a good day for you! I’m glad the news from the doctor is easily handled – another med to take. You definitely got the most out of your trip to see the doctor — having lunch with Buck, a trip to the thrift store and a visit with your sister & BIL. You’ll probably sleep like a baby tonight you were so busy.
I laughed about the bite out of the butter. We were missing the whole stick of butter when we left the house once – we had our 2 grandpups here that we were dog sitting for a few days. Turns out it wasn’t the 21-pound terrier – it was the 6-pound chihuahua! She not only jumped up on the bench, but she also jumped up onto the table AND got the top off the butter (without breaking it) to get to the good stuff. She ate EVERY bit of it, too. Our daughter wasn’t surprised – she’s done that at her house, too – so she no longer leaves butter on the table. We told the terrier he was a good boy & gave him a treat for being good. Had to laugh at the chihuahua – she rules the house…. whichever house she happens to be in, cats, big dogs or not. Have a good day tomorrow, Jo! Deb / N. Calif.
I’m so glad you had a good day! I’m glad it worked out for you and your sister to get to visit! Sounds like a good report from the doctor too! Hugs,
I’m sorry your back hurts. God give you easy rest and quickly restore your vigor.
Sounds like you had a great day – meds tune-up, visit, shopping, lunch with Buck.
A good day all around with stops for thrifting and seeing family!
Love and prayers
What a full day with lots of great visits, including the doctor. Sorry about the goose with no clothes. The picture of Eli with dandelion dusts is precious, what a funny kid.
