Reader’s Version: Stair Steps

Do you remember our Stair Step quilt?

StairStep-1

It was featured in last year’s 2016 August edition of American Patchwork and Quilting.

StairStep-

Well a reader, Marlene, sent a version of her quilt made using the pattern.

Stair Steps

I love it!!

Marlene writes:  “I thought that you might enjoy seeing the baby quilt I made using your Stair Steps pattern in the American Patchwork & Quilting magazine. After finishing a project that left me with 144 gray, black and brown bonus triangles, I realized that your pattern would be the perfect place to use them.  The quilt measures 29 1/2″ x 37 1/2″ which I figured would be the perfect size to drape over a stroller or car seat.

I enjoy reading your blog and following along on all your adventures.

Thank you for such a fun pattern.”

Aw…I love it and it is the perfect size for draping over a car seat or stroller.  Isn’t it great to have a spot to use bonus triangles?  My original started out as bonus triangle project but grew into something more.

Thanks so much for sharing Marlene.  I love seeing blog reader’s versions of our quilts.

  1. I’ve finished 2,250 Half square triangles…all pressed and trimmed. It’s all downhill from there to make a queen size, right?!

  2. Two beautiful quilts! What could possibly be better than that! This one is on my bucket list and I’m just going to have to ge to it,

  3. I love your idea of adding a strip down the middle when the fabric is directional! Thank you for sharing your quilting and your life with us.
