Ray’s Airing of the Quilts…

Ray has been busy today setting up for his church’s twice-yearly Airing of the Quilts. It was held today. Sadly I haven’t gotten blog posts together for each quilt. In the meantime, Ray sent a couple of pictures. I thought I would do a quick blog post and show them to you.

It’s nice to see the pictures “day of”. I really like the one with the purple and yellow on the right in the pictures below.

I don’t remember the name of the quilter who made the tops but know I liked them then and still like them now. I say them because she made several in different colorways. My favorite colorway is the neutral and blues that you see on the right in the picture below. I should start a quilt like that as a leader and ender quilt sometime. It would be a great way to use up scraps and some of those “why did I buy that” type of fabrics.

Here’s another in red…

It’s a good thing the event wasn’t held in Iowa. It’s so windy today!!

Amazingly…this was only a small portion of the quilts Ray has done.

I am sure a lot of people stopped to admire this next one.

I am so impressed with this beautiful showing.

Ray was busy and only had time to write a short note…
A great big THANK YOU to you and all your blog readers. We could not do this without your generous support!

Thanks so much for the pictures Ray. The event supports many of the church’s outreach programs in the community. If you see a quilt you love and would like to purchase it, who knows…it might not have been purchased at today’s event. Ray might be able to check it out and see if it’s still available. Of course, Ray would donate the funds to the outreach group. Here is Ray’s email… raylagrange@gmail.com

Seeing the quilts on the line just makes my heart happy. First off I love quilts…second, I love being a tiny part of making these quilts happen. Of course none of it could happen if we didn’t have quilters answering the call to donate tops…or the great people like Ray and others who finish the quilts. I guess I see it all as teamwork for people who love and care for others and want to do good in the world. Oh, yes…it’s a happy heart day for sure.

  2. So many beautiful quilts! It is fun to see quilts blowing gently on lines outside. It would really be hard to choose only one since they all have a certain aspect why I would like i. Thanks to all who contributed to these!

  5. They are All spectacular. I love the blue and white one that looks like the North Carolina block? Not sure if that’s the correct pattern name and I love the one with multiple stripes that looks like a kaleidoscope pattern- but there are so many beauties in this group.I hope Ray does well with his dedication to this cause.
