I’m always happy when I get mail that has finished charity in it. Several years ago when I came up with the idea of getting unwanted quilt tops to charities, I had no idea that so many quilts would ever be finished. I am amazed every week when I have something to tell you about in the charity quilt department. I am just amazed. I’m also amazed that many people are now sewing specifically for some of the charities. It make my heart happy. I’m so honored that I’ve been able to connect so many charity top makers to charity quilt finishers. I’m so happy that so many of you work to make this all possible.
Celesta from the Tanzania quilting group writes:
“The first quilts are from Leslie, in Seattle WA, and more of a modern design, and beautiful. There is one quilt that is larger, and then two smaller baby quilts, thank you Leslie!”
“These came from an anonymous quilter, thank you so much, and again, creative and beautiful.”
“The next picture shows“…“7 finished baby quilts from Colleen in Huntington, IN, and again, this was a second donation from Colleen. Thank you so very much for your generosity, and your beautiful work!”
“We still have quilts scattered out among our quilters, but with stay in place, they may be there for a little while, but that’s ok, staying healthy is more important than quilts at this point. We all appreciate everyone’s hard work, and generosity.”
“I hope Jo, I’ve kept these all straight, and hope too, that if some of the folks don’t see their donations, they understand. I did a count yesterday and there are over 150 baby and larger quilts that are completely finished and ready to ship, when a shipping option becomes available. Thank you so much for all your help in making these possible. Oh, and besides the ones that are finished, there are still plenty to keep us busy during the continued lock down. Please everyone, stay safe and healthy, that’s the number 1 priority!”
WOW…what a bunch of nice baby quilts. I’m thrilled that so many will be blessed with quilts. I’m also impressed with the ladies working so hard to finish these tops and work to get to the people of Tanzania. Impressive!!
Thanks for sharing this wonderful network of generosity, Jo!!
