Quilting a Long on the Cheap….

Did you hear?  Crazy Mom Quilts is having another quilt a long.  I dug through the cupboards over the weekend trying to find something in my stash that would work and I came up with this…

CrazyMom-1
The fabric bundle is a of 37 sweet sixteens (1/16th of a yard fabric cuts)…I got it for $13 when a local quilt shop was having a clearance.  My background is going to be the brand new 100 percent cotton sheet I found at Goodwill for $2.  I measured the sheet about 3 times and tried to calculate the required yardage and have decided that I am close enough to give it a try.  I am working on removing the lace from the sheet and then I’ll be ready to cut into it.

I am a bit nervous as I am not sure if this will end up being enough fabric.  I think I can round up a few more scraps that will match if necessary but for now, I am just keeping my fingers crossed or my quilt just might be a bit smaller than the model…regardless, it will be a guessing game right up to the finish.

Last year I quilted a long with Crazy Mom, Amanda Jean, and ended up with these two quilts (quilt one, quilt two).  They made great gifts…I am hoping this one will too.
