Oh it’s a busy day here today…. including “Waste not Wednesday” AND the “Leap Day Giveaway Blog Hop” and the Quilt Square Quilt Along!!
Hey all you Quilt Square Quilt Along-ers are you ready to see all the great blocks everyone completed? If you are wondering about prizes, they are at the end of this post. Now, I will show you next month’s block. It’s an easier one. It’s the Star block. I made the cheddar one first and it went together in a snap. Then I made the red and blue one…ugh. the pieces wouldn’t fit it was awful. Then I realized that I had grabbed a scrap of blue thinking it was 2.5″ but it was only 2.25 inches. A bunch of ripping later the block was complete.
If you are tired of squares….you can try this out in a table runner. Just add a more blocks. My daughter Kelli made this. Feel free to adjust the design as you’d like.
ok, enough about the March block…on with the show of February blocks!!
Here is Barb K’s block. Those blues are looking good!
Cheryl already has her’s up and hanging. I love the use of the red and cheddar for the half square triangles.
Here’s is Dale’s block. Don’t brown and red look great together!
Dale also sent in her January block to play catch up. It’s not too late for any of you to catch up either! If you want to join us, here’s a link to the the original invitation to quilt along.
Next up is Debbie B. She was busy using up scraps for square.
Here’s one perfect for Valentines Day done by Deb G. I love the heart quilting design in the corners.
Dee is next…It’s so fun to look and these and say “oh, I have that print in pink.” Yellows, browns and reds go great together.
Jan was busy with this one….I love the bright and scrappy look.
Here’s a block from Janelle B. Isn’t it displayed so cute with the tumbling bears?
Johanna is the creator of this gem. I struggle with finding ways to machine quilt mine. Johanna just seems to have a knack for it. I loved her quilting last month and this month too.
Lani made this square. It’s another fun scrappy one! Anything with cheddar fabric has to be good!!
Here is Laura P’s entry. I love how this block looks great planned, totally scrappy with any color anywhere or a planned scrappy like Laura’s block.
Nancy in PA is up next. There’s that cheddar that I love again. There were lots of blocks this month with hints of cheddar. LOVE them all!
Here is Peggy A’s block. Isn’t the green in the corner cute?
Sue T is up next with her version featuring browns and yellows….I love this one too.
This one was in my other email box and I missed it…here it is now.
I know I say it all the time…but aren’t they all unique? It’s fun to see them all out. Now all you bloggers who are quilting along, link up so we can see what you have been up to.
Stop back tomorrow and we’ll pick the winners of these great prizes.

Love your squares Jo – thinking I need to be using cheddar next month. This has been such an inspiration to me – keep up the awesome work you do!!! Kelli’s runner rocks – wish my daughter had an interest, but grandaughter did when she was little, now as a teenager there is only a little spark that I think will ignite again once she experiences teen life:)
WOW!! I love Janelle B.’s square with the little bears! CUTE!! I love March’s square. I think a runner is a great idea!
What great, fun blocks! I love to see all the variety. Great job, everyone! The new block looks fun. I, too, think I may have to find some cheddar. It seems to be a trend. Thanks for sharing!
All of the blocks are lovely – great choices of color and perfect corners!
I would love to win the hanger so pick me, pick me!
thanks for sharing all the pictures!
Wow! I love seeing all of the blocks. It is always amazing how the same block can look so different. I love your March blocks. Time to put on my thinking cap!
Isn’t it amazing how each person can change a quilt block to make it their very own!!! That is one reason I love quilting so much-your work is YOU! Each person’s block is very good-they did a fine job!
I’m so jealous, I wish I were as prolific as you. Everyone’s color choices are so different, it’s amazing how one fabric can change the look of the block. I love reading your blog everyday, great photos. Give Gracie a hug for me! ;-> Toni Anne
I love seeing the different samples of the blocks! Inspiring!!
How fun Jo! Love the quilt square parade…a treat for the eyes!
And I can’t wait to get started on this new block!
I love looking at all the different fabrics everyone used….it is hard to pick my favorite. i have to make a red-white-blue one and i think it will be March with the starts. i also like Kelli’s table mat…..i wish i could pull ideas like that out of my head but they seem to be stuck there. i always need a pattern. Thanks for sharing your idea!
Thanks Jo, I’m having so much fun with these little quiltlettes. Can’t wait to get started with March.
Thanks for sharing everyone’s projects. Looking forward to next month. That aurifil thread is great for applique!
I hate to be a copy cat but I agree, that cheddar just jumped right off the screen and said, “make me, make me!”.
