Quilt Square Quilt Along July Parade

There are two posts today for the Quilt Square Quilt Along.  The previous post shows the prizes and reveals the new block for August.

There weren’t as many quilt squares sent in as usual…I think everyone has been gardening and vacationing.  There is really a lot of variety this month.  Participants were asked to make either of the star blocks….

Dee was super fast…she sent her block to me on July 2nd.  What a speedy gal..and it’s completely FINISHED!!

Laura P made this block…it’s red and green but not “Christmasy” .

Here’s Judy’s block…The pink and brown are always a favorite of mine.

Here’s Jan’s block…These colors are great together!

Barb K was busy and make two blocks in blue….Here’s the first one.

Here’s Barb’s second block.  I can’t wait to see the quilt top she puts together with these beauties.

Sharyn made two blocks too. Both of her’s are from the same pattern.

Nancy in PA made and finished both star blocks.  Great color choices!

Here’s two finished blocks from Nancy.  WOW we had lots of people who made two blocks!!

Jenelle got her’s in just in time….I love her organized scrappy.

Here is Laura Peterson’s block.  The scrappy is fun but the controlled center and points bring it all together to look perfect.

Thanks everyone for playing along.  I’ll be back tomorrow with the prize winners.  If someone’s block wasn’t included, drop me an email at rogjok@iowatelecom.net.

  1. Fun fun parade! I am clapping for all the entries…such beautiful blocks! I think Jenelle’s is my favorite…I have lots of those fabrics. Thanks for all the fun Jo!

  2. Jenelle Boxberger

Thanks Quilter Kathy. I have been trying to use mostly Jo Morton fabrics, but I’m running out of shirting so I had to sub a couple. But I’m pleased with it. My grand daughter spent the summer with me so I only had one day to sew by block together. I usually have them quilted and the binding on and displayed on a table top hanger. I need to catch up on June’s block too. I know I can, I know I can. LOL
    I loved all the blocks.

  3. What a BEAUTIFUL parade of quilts! I didn’t make July’s deadline but happily finished my block last night at 1 AM while watching Olympics reruns. Once I finally got going I didn’t want to stop.
Good going on the applique, Jo! You did it. :-)

  4. I loved doing this block, but I won’t be quite so fast for the August block.
So fun to see all the color combinations – very inspirational.
I love them all – so fun to see the Jo fabric Jenelle….I am a “bit” of a Jo collector myself:)
Love this monthly block party – thank you.

  5. Enjoyed seeing what everyone made. It is fun to see what fabrics other quilters select. I love Jenelle’s fabric selection, of course, I love Jo Morton fabric.

  6. My goodness what talented people out there. I am always blown away by the versatile and creative ideas that people come up with, designs and colour schemes are incredible.
Well done each and everyone you are so talented.
(I will get there one day – will even be able to choose my own colour scheme – one day)
