Are you ready to see next month’s block? Here it is. Mine is all sandwiched and ready to quilt.
It’s the Nine Patch quilt at the very bottom left of the pattern. You wouldn’t recognize it from my sample…I played with the colors and I’m not excited with the results. I intended to remake it but that didn’t happen either.
Remember, we have switched to pattern #6 of Lori Smith’s Quilt Square pattern. If you don’t have the pattern, no worry. You can get it here from Country Threads. If you have wanted to try to sew along and haven’t now that we are on a new pattern, it’s a great time to join in.
This month’s parade is a variety of squares as everyone had their choice of the blocks from pattern #4 to make.
First up is Jenelle’s. I love the yellows and cheddars! I always forget that black makes a great background.
Jan opted for the applique block…..very pretty.
Barb K was busy making two blocks. Her blue themed blocks are sure to make a stunning quilt.
Sara has two blocks to show off this month too. Reds, greens, pinks and neutrals are making some pretty blocks.
They are all scrappy and CUTE!
Brenda had two blocks…first the T block….
Then the star block….I love the yellowish neutrals in the border. It makes the star SHINE.
Brenda also has two blocks…here’s the T block done in pretty patriotic colors….
And here’s her star block…another beauty to my eyes.
Here’s Laura P’s block. I love the center star on top where the colors blend.
Sharyn sent in two blocks…same style blocks with a different color scheme. From reading everyone’s comments, I think this was the most challenging block. I think I agree.
Nancy made this T block square…check out the beautiful quilting.
Here’s Melody’s block…very nice and neat.
Nancy is the brave girl that tackled the applique and made two blocks! Both are beauties!
Michelle’s is the last block of the parade…it’s in 30’s prints.
I have to say that from the first block to the most recent block I have done, I truly think I am getting better at piecing. Working with small pieces like this is really a challenge and makes me sew with more care. I hope all of you are finding that your skills are also improving….my “fudging” skills are improving too!!
If you missed the prize list, you can check it out here… Country Threads, Martingale and Company , Ackfeld Manufacturing and Auriful Thread all have donated some great prizes.
If I missed you block, drop me a note and I’ll add it quick. rogjok@iowatelecom.net. Thanks for playing along!
Some real beauties again this month. I hope to go back and do the applique from this pattern set along with the new block this month. Thanks so much for hosting this Jo.
Wow!!! What great little quilts! It is wonderful to see what fabrics we each choose to use. Can’t wait to see what fabrics are selected next month.
LOVED the parade…what great blocks! I loved the photo of Jenelle’s block…such inspiration! Thanks so much for all the fun this year…it’s been a blast! I hope to get mine finished by Monday…it’s all cut out, but sewing has been a challenge this month.
Wow girls, these are simply great! I love seeing how we make them so individual! I made a scrappy T block, took it to school so someone could snap a picture for me, and then totally forgot about it. It’s sitting on top of my file cabinet, lol. I’m curious what everyone’s favorite block has been so far? I love the one with the neutral border squares and the center star. I’m looking forward to this next set.
Such variety! Love it! Except for the fact that I now see an error in my center star block. Oh, bother! Funny how I didn’t see it when I took a picture of it. Oh, well! I’ve been thinking I need to try one of the applique blocks. They are just adorable. Great job, everyone!
Who doesn’t like a parade. These are sew much fun to look at. I always come back two or three times just to look at all the pretty blocks. And Debbie B, I didn’t notice the error on your block until you pointed it out. How funny, well you know it doesn’t stick out like a sore thumb anyway. Thank you Quilter Kathy for you nice comment. I just wish I could have had mine finished, but I had to send my sewing machine in for adjustments on the tension. I will get my machine back on Tues. Then I can finish it. The Sept. block looks maybe a little more challenging than what I can tackle, but we will see if I give it a go. Thanks Jo for all you do. You are one busy lady.
Debbie B, if there is an error in one of your blocks, I sure can’t find it! I went back and looked, and still don’t see it, lol. Thanks, Jo, for the inspiration for all of these beauties.
