Quilt shop tour: Quilter’s Garden

Last week Kelli, Kalissa and I went to Cresco what to get her hair cut.  There is an awesome stylist there, Megan Riha, that we love.  She is the owner of Glo and we highly recommend it.

I got my hair cut first and then ventured down to the quilt shop.  I had seen Katie, the owner, at an auction awhile ago and she had said they had moved to the building next door.  I wanted to see the new place, Quilter’s Garden.

Here’s Katie in her new store.  Isn’t it fabulous?!?!  Unless you know the whole story you can’t really appreciate it.  Katie started out in a tiny building.  Honestly it was only big enough to host a few fabric lines along with a few samples.  There just wasn’t any room-but that’s what Katie could afford.

What Katie couldn’t offer is fabric she offered in personality.  She’s a wonderful gal-super friendly and very helpful.  There is no dumb question and doesn’t for a second make customers feel inadequate.

Before long Katie’s business had grown and she was in  a new shop.  It was much bigger but didn’t have the best aesthetics.  That didn’t stop Katie.  Her winning personality had her growing even more. The new shop was better but she wanted more.  Then one day, the store next door came for sale.

It was time for Katie to take another leap of faith and move to the bigger store.  It is WONDERFUL!!

Now there are room for displays.  With the tall ceilings the quilts on display look amazing.

When talking with Katie she shared that she did buy more fabric when she moved but also shared that she didn’t buy all that much.  It’s the more space that gives her things a new look.

I am so happy for Katie.  She really deserves a nice looking store to go with her sweet personality.

Here’s a new project she had just kitted up.  Kelli and I both thought it was cute.
