When we were out and about Hubby let me stop at not one but TWO quilt shops. This tour is of “Crazy to Quilt” in Cedar Falls, Iowa.
I am on a wool kick lately so I headed back to the wool section first.
I just love samples so I had to take these all in.
I love anything farm so this caught my eye too.
Oh…projects with sayings always get me too…if they are about home, they especially get me.
I was surprised by these pillows. Typically I don’t see these bright colors used in wool projects….So what do you think of these pillows?
The have a “modern” feel to them. Who knew wool could be “modern”??
These monthly wall hangings are something I have thought about doing for a long time but haven’t caved to the pressure…yet.
I smiled when I saw this pattern on display. It’s from a fellow blogger, Cluck, Cluck Sew.
I did love this spool candle mat.
From what I could see the shop is phasing out Civil War prints….sad, I know. They do have a great selection of batiks….
..and some great looking modern samples.
…more great samples…
This flag caught my eye…I love anything flag.
Of course I had to snap these two pictures of Lori Smith projects….remember Lori is the designer of our Quilt Square patterns.
As I left the shop I couldn’t help but smile at this pattern for these cute little quilt labels….they are paper pieced and now that I can paper piece and don’t hate it doing it…I could have bought them, but I didn’t. We had plans to go antiquing and I needed to save my money.
I just never know what I am going to find antiquing…but I snapped the picture and can always order it now if I would like.
I am guessing that the shop does quite a lot of machine quilting for people. Just during the 20 minutes or so that I was in the shop, two people brought in a total of four quilts!!
All in all, Crazy to Quilt is a nice little shop that is worth the stop if you are in Cedar Falls, Iowa.
Thanks for sharing pictures of the shop. I love that flag quilt too.
Too bad you didn’t also stop at Lulijune’s Quilt Shop in Cedar Falls! They have the best selection of Civil War era and 1930’s fabrics! It’s at the intersection of West Ridgeway and Grundy Rd. Or exit 220 on Hwy. 20.
