When blog readers sent me quilts for the recent disasters, one of the quilts was a string quilt done in reds, whites and blues. I asked if I could hold that quilt back and finish it for a Quilt of Valor. I can’t remember for sure but I think this one was done by Shirley-please correct in the comments if I am wrong.
I just loved the quilt. I forgot to take a picture, but the backing is a red and white check. Perfect for a Quilt of Valor.
I did some cheesy custom quilting….stars in the border and a medallion in the center of the strings. All in all I was happy with it. I love that I am able to work with blog readers to do good for others.
This quilt was sent out the next time I have a trip to the post office. Speaking of the post office. I want to thank two readers for sending some money to help cover postage for the charity quilts. It is so appreciated!! Thanks for thinking of me and doing your part in making the charity quilts happen.
