On my adventures and in my mail I’ve gotten a couple quilting goodies. I’ve had the intention of selling them in Clear Lake when we have the antiques show on September 3rd but then Hubby and I got talking and decided to sell them here on the blog first. This way we know someone who loves and wants them will get them.
Here’s the rules for the sale. You must leave a comment in the comment section telling which item you want and what price you are willing to pay. I’m asking that you pay through Paypal if possible but will take a personal check if necessary. The package will not get any extra insurance unless you request it. I will send things out to you as soon as possible. Sometimes it takes me a day or two to coordinate a post office trip being I have childcare but I will do all I can to have them to you in a timely manner. All of the money made from these sales will go into the account that I use to pay for the postage and supplies for the charity quilting.
First up I have this wonderful hand embroidered, hand quilted state flowers of the United States Quilt. Bidding for this will start at $40…you can raise bids at any increments.
The quilt is 91″ x 121″. Each block is embroidered with one of the fifty states along with the state flower.
If you look at the picture you can see that there is a fading of the red. If folded, that could be hidden.
The blocks are all in good shape and aren’t discolored except these two. I don’t know enough about vintage quilts to tell you what the stain is from or how to remove it.
The remaining blocks all look really good.
It is all nicely hand quilted.
The top of the quilt was flipped over and sewn down.
There is a small line of rust stain on the back.
Bidding for this quilt will start at $40. A $17 shipping fee will be added to the final bid amount.
Next up is this set of Sunbonnet Sue blocks gifted to me from Marion in Tennesse. Marion sent them to me hoping I could do something with the blocks but it is a job I am not able to handle at this point. Being Marion has been a supporter of the charity quilt project where the funds for the sale are going I thought it best to pass these on to someone would better know how to complete the project.
Here they are….There are 20 blocks. They are unfinished size of 12 1/2″ x 12 1/2″. I laid out a representation of the group.
A couple have a slight discoloration-notice the corner of the block.
They are nicely stitched using a button hole stitch.
Each Sunbonnet Sue is holding an embroidered flower bouquet.
Bidding for these will start at $12. The winning bidder will pay $9 in postage plus the final bid amount.
I also have a box full of shirts without backs. Some are a shirt front with sleeve attached. Some are both shirt fronts with no backs. I have been working with a lady doing a charity quilt project and she doesn’t need backs so I’m selling those as I don’t need anymore shirts right now. All are 100% cotton and are perfect to use for Bonnie Hunter’s quilts made from shirts. The bidding is for this entire lot…what you see is what you get. I’m hoping to stuff it all in the box but the reality is I don’t think it will fit.
Bidding for this lot of 100% cotton shirts will start at $20. A $19 shipping fee will be added to the final bid amount.
All bidding will close on Wednesday August 23rd at 8pm Central time. Remember to bid you must leave a comment in the comment section telling which item you want and what price you are willing to pay. Remember shipping fees will be added to the final bid amount.
