Sometime ago we had a giveaway here on the blog. We gave away an issue of Quiltmaker’s 100 blocks and an American Patchwork and Quilting Calendar that we had a quilt featured in. The winner Gladys Wahls recently contacted me and wanted me to see her version of our quilt.
As a reminder this is our quilt….
This was super fun to make. We loved how the blocks almost look like flowers….we called our version Crystal’s Zinnia Garden.
Here’s a look at Gladys’ quilt.
All of the pedals of her flowers feature this fabric.
Wow….isn’t that fun. I just love seeing different versions of our quilts. I love to see how my vision turns into someone else’s vision with slight modifications that make the quilt their very own. Oh fun!
Gladys writes, ”
Hi Jo and Kelli,
I finally have the quilt, quilted. I quilt on my DSM and just do a loose meander.. I made it one row wider and one row longer to finish at 100″ square. I love it, and it will soon be on our bed. If you recall, I was the winner of the calendar and 100 block mag. Thanks again”
Thanks so much for sharing this Gladys. I really appreciate your sharing!!
Wow, it is super nice and how nice that she shared with all of us.
I must’ve missed the original blog post! I love this quilt….both versions.
I know Gladys from the Yahoo group Stashbusters. She is wonderful like you in that she takes in orphans (UFOs, PIGS, WIPs), puts them together and donates them to people in need. I’m so glad she won your giveaway AND that she actually made a quilt for herself!
Beautiful quilt. Thanks for sharing.
