Quilt Book Review: Autumn Bouquet

Martingale Publishing sent me LOTS of quilt books to review and here is yet another one.  This one had me wishing I was into applique.  It had me thinking I wanted to try.

The book is Autumn Bouquet by Sharon Keightley.  Here’s the cover by just wait until you see the inside.

I think one of the best ways and most complimentary ways to describe the book is if you like Kim Diehl, you likely like this designer too.  They both create amazing quilts by combining applique and piecing.

I think this little project is my favorite from the book.  If I owned a quilt shop, I’d kit this up and get someone to teach it as an applique class.  It’s so cute!!

Here’s a fun piece that also combines piecing and applique.

…and another.

But there were a few quilts that were only piecing….here’s one…

…and this one too.

Here’s the cover quilt…I like this a lot but there’s applique again.  I can applique..I just hate all the prepping work and if I’m going to be doing hand work, I’d prefer if to be cross stitching.  That doesn’t mean I don’t love to look at it as I REALLY do!

Here’s a cute table topper.

This one is bold.

All in all I liked the book a lot.  It had a variety of projects and they were made in a variety of colors.  The projects went from small to larger which is nice.  There were 12 projects in the book that made for a great dose of eye candy.

If you’d like to check out the other projects in the book, you can find it HERE from Martingale Publishing or HERE on Amazon.

Oh, Jo, thank you so much! They are beautiful. I especially like the first one. I have a man friend that quilts. I’m trying to talk him into incorporating some of my counted cross stitchings into a quilt. As I said to him, the backing would be covered. But I’m NEVER embarrassed by my backings. Only thing, I would have to do knots if it were going to be incorporated into something that was going to be washed. Maybe you could think about doing this on one of your quilts.

  2. I love doing appliqué and will be getting this book. I make samples for a local quilt shop so will suggest this book to the owner! Thanks
