Instagram can be dangerous. Don’t get me wrong, I love Instagram. I often love it more than Facebook. I feel like there are fewer ads and less controversy. So I do find myself on Instagram at bedtime for a few minutes. I know people recommend no phone at bedtime but it’s not a problem for me. I have no trouble sleeping at this point in my life.
Over the last month or so, Lisa Bongean of Primitive Gatherings has been sharing her Itty Bitty Celebration pieces. She would post one and I’d be so tempted…but I didn’t go and buy it. She’d show one the next day. Oh, tempted again. I continued and continued to be tempted. Then finally one day I went on Amazon to see all of the designs from the book…Well, that did me in. I ended up ordering the book. Here it is, Itty Bitty Celebrations by Lisa Bongeoan.
Happily, the pictures show all of the cute, cute, designs. I’m sharing pictures of them all! Check them out…
Be still my heart. Did you see that snowman in the center with the hearts? SO CUTE!!
As you can see the designs take you right through the seasons…
So far the only problem with the book is figuring which to make first.
If you haven’t done wool applique, no problem. There are great instructions at the beginning of the book. A newbie to wool applique could easily do these. In fact, if you are new to wool applique, this is the perfect book to try it out. The projects are small. They are quick and easy to finish.
Not only seasons are represented but so are favorites, coffee, wine, dogs, cats…even fishing. There is something for everyone.
I really want to remember this book for when my grandkids get a little older. I think it would be fun to make these with the kids.
The designs are really small at only 2″. I’m tempted to blow a few of them up and make them into little pillows for my dough bowl. The one on the left, second row down with the little wool pennies is one I want to do for sure.
So many of these would make great Christmas ornaments. They could be cute little gift tags or something to easily be sent in the mail as a “thinking of you” surprise.
They could easily be added to the top of a pincushion. I think the list of possible gifting ideas is LONG.
I think I’m going to buy a bag of these clips. Find them HERE on Amazon. I’m thinking they could clip on and then they could hang like ornaments. If I do that I might make the background a little taller so there is plenty of room for the clip.
My brain is swirling with ideas….but as I said, right now the hardest decision is which one I want to make first.
I think I’m going to stitch up a couple and then after that, I’m going to Merry’s Stitchin’. It’s in Jessup, Iowa about 40 minutes south of me. She always has wonderful wool in cute little packs. I’m going to treat myself for getting a few done with a new little pack of wool. Now that sounds fun. I haven’t been to a quilt shop in a LONG time.
If you are looking for the book, you can find it HERE on Amazon.
